The very last UK 🇬🇧 unit to land back on home soil!

Our last evening in Korea & Seoul started with a sunset cruise along the River Han with seagull feeding to entertain us!
Today we visited Gangnam District and the .library - we struck the obligatory hand pose before dispersing and soaking up the sights.

We took a little gondola ride across the to get even closer to the border.
We wrote messages of Peace on our Purple Ribbon and tied it to the fence to show our respect.
Today we visited the DMZ - first stop was the Peace Bridge where the POW traveled across after the war ended.
Today was a day of free time to explore the city, and we had some fantastic trip reports - from Hikes up the Mountains to Aquariums and Animal Cafes!
A little walk through the park and then another dip in the local outdoor swimming water park.

What a fantastic morning at Kayaking and Paddleboarding - we definitely cooled off!

First stop today was the - a somber insight to Koreas war history.
Today we headed to the and had great fun splashing around in the ball pens and various rooms.
The K-Pop Party is in full swing!
Awesome time at in Seoul - thanks to 2 of our unit members for leading the rest in a warm up and some games!
We finally got a chance to sit down as a whole unit and have dinner!

A Jamboree is all about having FUN, meeting NEW PEOPLE, Learning about NEW PLACES & making MEMORIES to take home - we have definitely done that and are continuing to add to those as our journey continues.

Our way of accounting for everyone in their rooms at the hotels - we’ve had some amazing creative entries and we’d love to give them a special mention.
Huge thank you to & .international.school.rp who reached out to us to offer the use of their facilities which included swimming, and use of the outside play areas with basketball & badminton.
Had a great afternoon playing water polo and diving competitions.
Hanbok wearing was so much fun… we glided around the palace and took in the beautiful sights.
Had a fantastic excursion today to the Gyeongbokgung Palace.
We hired traditional Hanbok outfits to wear to the palace and really looked the part 🤩(although very VERY sweaty and hot) 😂
Our excursion jamboree programme in Seoul has begun and we are going to struggle to fit it all in.
The UK contingent team and Korean Government have teamed up and are really looking after us!
Some of our unit members met a lovely Korean couple today in the mall who insisted on buying them an ice cream as a welcome to Korea!
Our YP were blown over by their generosity and kindness. 🫰
Meal times on camp - we learnt to eat some interesting things and discovered some new foods that we are keen to keep 😋
We made the best of a day of cancelled activities by heading to the Delta Zone where all the international food houses and Pavilions were - some interesting things were found!

The parade to the opening ceremony was electrifying with so many scouts coming together to cheer, sing and shout!
We had great fun as the sun went down and flew the flag for East Sussex!
Trading became a great activity at the 제25회 세계스카우트잼버리 25th World Scout Jamboree 2023 for our unit - they loved meeting and swapping scouting and jamboree items with other scouts from all over the world!
Yesterday we arrived in Seoul ready for the next part of our adventure!
Whilst we waited for our rooms to be assigned we made friends, played cards and chilled.

Last night we received the news that our jamboree is coming to a premature end.
As sad as this is, it is the right decision!
Whilst obviously disappointed, we know that the health and wellbeing of our Unit members is paramount and we support the decision from the .
We want to say a huge thank you to all the IST, CMT and everyone involved in keeping our young people safe and healthy, and for arranging our transport and hotels - what an incredible operation for over 4,500 people!
This is not the end of our Jamboree experience though as we head to Seoul with the rest of the UK Contingent to continue our adventure there for the next 12 days!
