Just back from a week of exploring up in Scotland in the snow as I prepare myself for my winter mountain leader assesment. ποΈ
Everyday was an adventure as I climbed new mountains and visited new areas. π
Lots of navigation practice including lots of time hiding up in the clouds and selecting routes to avoid the worst of the wind where possible, whilst dealing with the all the snow conditions I encountered.
Scotland in winter is definitely character building!

Was good to be back working with this motley crew from over the weekend at Kendal Mountain Festival ποΈ
I'll even admit that for some strange reason I enjoyed running this year which is something I thought I would never say. πββοΈ
Kendal is always a good event to be part of, meeting friends old and new, trying new activities and sometimes even pushing your limits on what you think you can achieve always leads to good experiences and this weekend was one of those weekends for me.
Even thinking about the possibility of offering guided trail runs in the hills if anyone is keen!!!

When I was working James was on one of my beginners courses about 3 years ago. Now he is taking himself out climbing outside, putting the skills he learnt indoors to use when he climbs outdoors.
Plus we were the only two teams climbing at this great little venue on a gorgeous sunny day.
