Today has actually felt like the first proper chilled day of the summer holiday, even though it’s been a week since my son’s school finished. End of year business accounts were submitted yesterday, and other essential paperwork has also been done.

It was lovely to kick back today and play this board game with my son, that he made at school in graphics lessons. The rules are more complicated than they look!

The garden needs some TLC too - it’s getting tricky to get out of the back door & there’s bamboos that need potting to contain their roots.

Hurrah for chilling at home days…I hope you get some of these too this summer🌞

It’s been an exciting and somewhat nerve wracking week…I yesterday accepted an offer to work in the again. I had an interview, hence the suit, for an Employment Specialist role for South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust and was delighted to be offered the position.

I worked in a similar role for 7 years previously for this Trust and absolutely loved the job, helping clients with mental health challenges to find work, or support them to keep their job. Previously I worked in secondary care services for a Recovery Support Team in Merton. My new role will be with clients who are accessing talking therapies in Kingston, and are under GP care. I’m really looking forward to getting started when all the formalities are completed, and meeting clients and therapists in the Team

The Team have kindly agreed to me working part-time, so that means I will still have time for my small business 💫 After 4 years of hard work I did not want to give this up! It may just mean I take a little longer to answer customer queries and messages.

It also means I can still go to some meet ups… I’m very much looking forward to chatting blue bottles and all things with independent Consultants from London and the South East at Monday’s meet.

My new NHS clients with have the benefit of my learnings from running a business, something I could not offer my old clients!

Oh wow! I’d forgotten what hard work is… and …even with my hobbyist ‘cheat’ set up (software does the beatmixing - and mostly lines it up 😬) Couldn’t help but bounce whilst playing and the energy coming off the dance floor was proper old skool Brighton raving vibes…50th birthday celebration stylee

Unfortunately my number one go to plan is scuppered as the chamber is closed today…so I’m reacquainting myself with an old friend to rub into knees, calves and thighs.

I love to pause to marvel at nature’s colours and patterns

It was lovely to join an online Reiki practice session tonight with my Usui Reiki Master (who attuned me to levels 1 & 2 in 1998) and lots of his students.

I love being attuned to this ancient healing method and tonight was a powerful session of self-Reiki, clearing and grounding.

Reiki gives me a strong sensation of warmth in my hands and I love the ways it moves through the body to where energy is needed.

How has your June been? I’ve a super social month attending the 🔸Integrative and Personalised Medicine Congress &🔹NYRO Consultant Community Summer Social at Neal’s Yard in Covent Garden

However my highlight of June was attending🌟Impact Live with 20 fabulous women from the community coordinated by the inimitable Susan Green, founder of Inspired Hub Hampton who bought us all together 💫

Impact Live! was a fabulous day of storytelling by inspirational and motivational speakers, brought together by PR superwoman Nicola Rowley Nicola Rowley who was an herself a few years ago.

I’m still thinking about some of the stories I heard on Tuesday, particularly those who had changes of life direction through adversity. I definitely am booking my ticket for 25th June 2025!

My Shout Out Saturday goes to the legendary Kate Strong Kate Strong for holding her vision for 10 years and finally completing and publishing her first book “Climate Cycle: Why a bike ride around Britain became a movement for change”.

Kate is a truly extraordinary woman, cycling 3000 miles around mainland Britain on a bamboo bike, whilst engaging with over 50 grassroots community projects, charities, communities and schools along the way who are contributing to the fight against climate change.

Kate became an AG World Champion triathlete in 2014, created 3 world records in 2021 for static cycling and has done many more incredible things in her life.

However, Kate is brave enough to share her vulnerabilities too. Her video on 22nd May was so moving as she talked about how she “overcame so many reasons to not do the book, listening to what could be than the reasons to not even try”. I find this so empowering and motivating and hope you do too!

Congratulations Kate on achieving your long held goal of writing a book 👏🏽 I will be ordering a copy and look forward to reading it soon

Looking up and appreciating nature

It was wonderful to visit The FIT Partnership - Esher new studio this morning for a breathwork class based on the work of Stanislav Grof with Rob Rea

Class was followed by fresh juices and a tour of the new space that is a work in progress. I cannot wait for the cryotherapy and hyperbaric oxygen chambers to be installed and the ice baths!

Max Berry and the The F.I.T Partnership team’s vision is amazing and 🤞🏽the Esher studio will be open later in 2024. In the meantime I’ll keep enjoying the superb facilities at the Wimbledon Studio.

I’m a student again…thought it was time to actually learn about some of the nitty gritty of digital marketing and social media. So this Saturday and next I’m in a classroom, to create a strategy for my small business.

The course was postponed by a couple of weeks, so I am sad to be missing the march today. I look forward to seeing and sharing what I missed later today. Big ups everyone who is marching 🙌🏽
