Earlier this week I had the pleasure of hosting my second team meeting of the year.

We meet every quarter online, to check in, and come together as a team. We also have regular contact on our Teams chat.

Lucy Bailey - Lucy is a Certified Business Strategist and tech loving and detail orientated Virtual Assistant who has a background in Stage Management.

Nicola Scott - Nicky is a brilliant Tech Virtual Assistant who has an eye for detail, an analytical mindset and loves logical workflows and processes.

I feel very lucky to work with these three amazing ladies who are supporting me to get closer to achieving my vision for both Empowered Online and The Chronic Entrepreneur, using my signature R.E.S.T Framework.

It feels like a really exciting time at the moment, where we are:

Five years ago today I ventured fully into the world of entrepreneurship. 🤩

There were a few reasons for this:

🔺 I had been diagnosed with ME/CFS the year before, and was really struggling with managing day to day and working full time in. 9-5

🔺 I was away in France for the winter season and currently unemployed

🔺 I was recovering from breaking my wrist, and an op where I had a metal plate fitted, just a few weeks earlier.

I still remember the surgeon telling me the day after I had my operation and a metal plate fitted that I was to do no sports for 3 months.

I was devastated.

I was away for a Ski Season, and although my time was limited on the slopes due to having a chronic condition and needing to manage my energy and pain levels, it was the one thing I was looking forward to, and that had been taken away too.

However, I’m a big believer that things happen for a reason, and although breaking my wrist after being involved in an accident on the slopes of Courchevel, France, was a traumatic experience, it opened the door of opportunity for me to venture in to setting up my own business, and setting out on an entrepreneurial journey in 2019 and I have never looked back.

Life is still a challenge, some days more so than others, but since deciding to work for myself, I am happier, I can manage my health much better, I have full flexibility, I have a purpose, and I feel like I am living and not just existing.

Above all, I am grateful for the opportunities that have presented themselves and the people that I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with

All because I chose to believe and trust in myself, and see the opportunity at what was a very difficult and challenging time.
