⚠️ System down ⚠️
Hey guys,
I’m touched by all the messages sent, but yes the whole MyCampus System is down right now (worst timing!) IT is working on getting it back up and I’ll update you when the site up again for you to be able to vote!
On Monday, I asked some students in QE hospital how their time in placement, during covid-19, has been. 🏥
I also explained the idea of the Wellbeing Check-in Service I’m planning to initiate if elected, and asked them what they thought about it. 💭
The result was this lil fun video. Enjoy! ✨
Thank you to Norah Ama, Varun Tandon, Sharin Singh, Omnia Osman, Sahan Bennett & Lucia Harley for sharing your views.

*Extended Manifesto Point 4* Last one!
This one’s pretty self explanatory! A lot of great work was done last year, including securing weekly financial compensation to and from placements, and holding de-stressing events close to exam season! If elected, I would work to ensure that this is continued and built upon, so that each year comes with better improvements for you.
*Extended Manifesto Point 3*
It’s inevitable that during these uncertain times many changes will be happening regularly across campus. As Healthcare Students, with busy and fast-paced schedules, keeping up to date with all the different emails can get overwhelming.
Up-to-date, concise and transparent summaries is just what we need. I would make sure that the important decisions made by the council reaches you, so that you stay well informed on all the changes made this year.
*Extended Manifesto point 2*
I will…
- Minimise challenges faced this year by amplifying your voices at the council table:
As the University works to ensure that part/all of our Courses are continued online, I’m here to take up any suggestions and challenges to the University so that they are not overlooked. This would minimise challenges faced by students this year.
- Effective student representation:
In order to accurately represent the 3 healthcare departments, I will facilitate engagement and actively seek feedback, following up on any issues and concerns raised throughout the year. Developing a close and supportive relationship with your class reps will better help ensure this; so that your voices and needs are well and truly heard.
- Create effective communication systems to facilitate regular contact with all your class reps.
With the pandemic still in full force, this university year will be very different for all of us. One challenge I wish to focus on is Student Welfare amidst covid-19 concerns. Welfare is a very broad term that encompasses a lot of factors, and feelings of wellbeing are personal and subjective to every single one of us. The online transition amidst covid-19 will be challenging, but I hope to work closely with you all to tailor the support needed. So that whilst you’re working hard on your studies and placements, your health and wellbeing are being prioritised and looked after too!
Monthly Wellbeing Check-In Service:
If elected, I plan to organise a monthly wellbeing check in service. This would give you the opportunity to raise any worries whilst having the confidence that your concerns will be heard and addressed! This service would also be used to track welfare areas that need prioritising within the Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing schools.
Work collaboratively to deliver Wellbeing Sessions & further support:
I would also aim to work collaboratively with student societies to deliver Wellbeing sessions, and provide support across the 3 schools. I would ensure that societies in the Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing Schools, alongside student reps, feel supported so that we can collectively better support YOU.
I'll be elaborating on my main manifesto aims over the next few days!
