Food is the fuel to everything never mind children. Hunger is not acceptable for anyone. Full stop. This subject as been on my mind, not because I have three young ones of my own but also I grew up needing free school meals. I’m not ashamed, my parents came to this wonderful city with nothing and free school dinners were a gods send. I never knew why school meals had such a bad reputation with kids but I have soo many fond memories of school dinners.

So, wanting to help but I was a bit stuck on how I could help. When I saw Jess offering her snack bag, this was the perfect idea for me to ADD a main meal!!

Please DM me, if you would like a meal (vegan fried rice and mini spring rolls). I will make these on Friday and deliver to for you to collect. No questions asked.

Im so happy the sun is back out for This weekend’s special...Banh Xeo is what summer meals are made off. It’s light, full of veggies and herbs. The batter is gluten free, includes coconut milk and turmeric which is not only good for you but makes the pancake look like the sun itself ☀️

There are two per portion, one filled with vegan prauns the other mushroom and tofu. Other veggies includes beansprouts, carrots, onions and chow chow for the crunch and sweetness.
Lettuce, mint, coriander and cucumbers are included for you to wrap it up... so, wash your hands or get your hand sanitiser ready because this is the only way to eat it!

🌱Saturday 1st August MENU will be our popular celebration box AND a chef’s special BANH XEO - This is a savoury crispy Vietnamese coconut & turmeric pancake. It’s light, filled with vegetables and yes, eaten with lots of fresh lettuce and herbs!! This would be a great addition to your sharing box. 🥬🥒🥕🥥🌶

Vietnamese desserts are called “chè” or “bánh” the latter refers to cake and chè can come in my many forms like a iced drink or a pudding. Luckily most are vegan and gluten free as we often use vegetable like sweet patato or seeetcorn and 🥥 is not debatable!!. Street food markets in Vietnam are busiest at night and people often go out for chè like we have afternoon tea.
I can’t introduce without sharing our vanilla alternatives in Asian cooking ; pandan leaves! 🌱
You can get essence but I much prefer the leaves for its natural colouring and flavour. It’s simply blitzed with water and you have a supply for cakes and dessert. Of course, it’s widely used in savoury dishes or to flavour rice too.
This weekend you’ll get pandan pannacotta in your celebration box. Using coconut milk, it’s not too sweet and really show off the pandan flavour really well. Looking forward to see what you think of it!! 🌱🥥🍮

🌱Tofu & Shiitake mushroom PHO with flat rice noodles
🌱 Vegan BBH with tofu puff and vegan Ham with medium round rice noodles.
🌱Bun- fresh, crunchy noodle salad with lemongrass vegan beef or Satay chic’
🌱 Bun Cari - seasonal vegetable lemongrass curry. This has a laska consistency hence why we eat it with noodles. Creamy from the coconut 🥥 and the heat 🌶 means this dish packs a punch for that Friday feeling 💥

Sauces sauces sauces... honestly they make or break a dish right? Find a good one, especially chilli oil it will make any dish taste amazing. Trust me!
Today was my first day in two weeks where I had a little more time to whip up something I have been craving for. with vegan prawns, normally served with cucumber, beansprouts and herbs 🌿 but today all I needed was Chilli oil and a little soya sauce and I got myself a satisfying lunch.
