Evening All

As per the announcement at the race briefing at Kibblestone I can confirm that the ground at Oulton Cricket Club will be ok to park the cars there so there will be no need to use Kibblestone for parking.

Can I ask however that where possible if you can car share that you do because the parking at the cricket club can be a challenge for space

For those people who have entered all three races there will be some goodies to collect at the end of the race. Also presentations of the overall and age group prizes will be done at the end of the race.

A little further incentive for you sprinters is that there will be an additional prize for the person who can get to the 1 mile mark first (both male and female). Just remember though you still need to get up the hills, three of them after that point to be precise!!

I have a lovely OMM jacket not picked up by somebody. Very tempted to make it my wife’s next birthday present but I suppose if somebody is precious about getting it back then I can always buy something else !!

As mentioned at the race briefing, I will put a post out on Monday/ Tuesday next week with parking arrangements for next Thursdays race. To confirm it will either be at Oulton cricket club or at Kibblestone if the cricket pitch too wet to take cars. Based on tonight’s weather I think it might be Kibblestone!!

Second of the Spring Treble series tomorrow (18th April) at Kibblestone Scout Camp, ST15 8UJ. Start time 19.00

If you registered at the first race please remember to bring your bib number, if you didn’t then please collect at registration.

Kibblestone is always a trail shoe kind of race but unsurprisingly we have more mud than previous years so please be aware

Firstly apologies for the confusion on the route this evening. I appreciate some of you may not have wanted to run an extra mile on some of those hills!.

Our understanding is that the majority of the participants ran the same distance. We will review the results over the next couple of days, understand what options we have and contact those impacted individuals to discuss further. Results will not be published until we have aligned with those people.

Spring Treble | Stone Master Marathoners | AV Timing First held over fifteen years ago, the races are run over three consecutive Thursday evenings in April with the advantage of the lighter nights of the Spring Equinox getting us off the winter roads into Staffordshire’s beautiful countryside.

You should have all received race day instructions for Thursday 11th but just in case

Marquis Mayhem - start time 19.00
Parking - will be available at the Cannock Chase Visitor Centre WS12 4PW
Toilets - will be open at the visitor centre
Distance - 5 miles
Shoes - would recommend trail shoes.
Registration - please give yourself enough time to register and collect your bib which you will need to keep for all three races

Hi All

Yesterday we lost Alison Brind, one of our long standing members to cancer. Dr Alison Brind specialised in liver care locally at UHNM and worked tirelessly educating people on how to care for your liver as well as caring for people suffering with this disease.

Before she died Alison raised thousands for the liver services and cancer centre at UHNM and we want to continue to raise as much as we can for this worthwhile cause

While at the club Alison was famed for her journeys abroad, racing in far flung places but also for her love of off road races. That is why we thought to use the Spring Treble to continue the fund raising work that Alison started.

All proceeds from the series will also be donated to Alison's Just Giving Page which I have included below. Any further donations would be really appreciated.

If you need any inspiration to get up the Spring Treble hills then I am sure this will do it!

Entries for the 2024 Spring Treble are now open!!!

There has been a change of route for the first race, which will now start near the Marquis Visitor Centre at Cannock Chase. It will still be a typical Spring Treble route heading off into Forestry England land around the Fairoak pools.

The second and third races remain at the same locations of Kibblestone and Oulton Cricket Club.

We are pleased to announce that the dates for the Spring Treble are now confirmed as the 11th April (Marquis Drive, Cannock Chase), 18th April (Kibblestone, Stone) and 25th April (Oulton Cricket Club, Stone)

Unfortunately we have had to find a different route for the first race due to permission issues but we are confident our revised route fits the Spring Treble brand very well!! 😂

We are still waiting for final approval of the Marquis Drive route, we should find out in February . As soon as we know we will send out the entry link but please in the meantime put the dates in your diary

Westbridge 5 | AV Timing

Due to the change of venue for this year, there have been some questions about the race.

The start location has changed to Alleynes Sports Centre, the address for this is:

They have kindly agreed to let us use the centre for parking too. The start is a very short distance from the car park.

Race numbers will be available to collect on the morning of the race, and the race start time is 09:30am!

Many of you will have received an email from us in the last week or 2 regarding the race series we have had to postpone due to coronavirus but we wanted to reach out to you all during this difficult and challenging time. We understand that, as runners who have entered our races, you will be finding the current restrictions imposed on us all with regards to accessing the outdoors especially difficult. It is a big deal and could have an impact on our mental health in addition to lost income, be it because you are a self-employed freelancer, or perhaps you have lost your job.

As we are all finding a new normal and spending more time indoors we urge you to reach out to your ‘Running Family’ using the Spring Treble group on Facebook. We can share stories of what we are doing, perhaps if you find something which has you rolling on the floor laughing – share it, or, if you have any ideas on training that can be done in your house or garden, let’s hear them.

We will all miss coming together in the coming months, so let’s do so via other methods.
