Are you traditional and inkeeping or contemporary and contrasting?

The same extension footprint can be designed in different ways to give 2 very different aesthetics. The beauty is that there is no right or wrong answer - it entirely comes down to what suits that particular client.

Unrecognisable compared to what it was like when we started this project. Everything back to brick, internal layout reconfigured, single storey extension added and no stone left unturned with the finishes. Looking forward to seeing how well this does as an Air BnB.

We have no issues with the client taking the lead on many of the design aspects. Some clients are happy leaving the design entirely in our hands, some come with a very clear picture of what they want. Either way, our job is to facilitate and deliver. It helps when they have such good taste.

I don’t think I’d ever tire of strolling up and down Ocean Drive. The combination of sun, sea, sand and art deco architecture can’t really be beaten 👌🏼

Something a bit different to add to the portfolio…

A fantastic returning client wanted to complement their beautiful old farmhouse with a private horse riding arena in their grounds. The historic property is B Listed so there was a bit of negotiation required with Planning to get approvals in place.

The end users seemed to be enjoying their new playground 🐎

Working with property investor clients, the aim was to maximise the profitability of this flip project with cost effective layout changes and alterations. We worked closely with the clients to explore multiple options and decide the best way forward. Speed is always a priority for investors so we aim to progress these projects through the approval process as quickly as possible to keep things moving at pace on site.

2023 IN NUMBERS

2023 saw a consistent uptick in pretty much every metric: number of projects, new clients and approvals.

As with 2022, we’ve focused predominantly on Fife but seen a positive increase in enquiries over the bridge in Edinburgh and West Lothian.

When working from home, it’s ideal to have a dedicated space where you can separate yourself from distractions while working and disconnect from work at the end of the day.

This design combines an extended living area and dedicated Home Office with its own external access. The covered canopy creates an inside/outside space which takes advantage of the southerly aspect.

Making the working day a bit more palatable.

Ticking off Two Bedrooms (one with En-suite), Shower Room, Living Area, Dining Area, Kitchen (with breakfast bar) and Roof Terrace. All in the neat 65m2 footprint of a Quadruple Garage below.

The vaulted ceiling and glazed gable will make the compact space feel much larger and take full advantage of the phenomenal views towards the Forth.

A simple design (but sometimes it doesn’t need to be complicated).

The main priority for us is always to meet the clients’ brief without over complicating things. This double garage extension takes an unusable corner of the garden and adds some much needed space above for a growing family. It’s also a cost effective solution to add value to the house and make sure it serves them for years to come.
