Have you spotted the work of art that recently appeared on the windows of our café?
It’s the creation of the talented artist Édouard Vien, a literary 'cut-up' that uses the scattered pages from a unbound books to tell the rich history of Shakespeare and Company through the words of some of our favourite writers.

Edouard Vien works as a visual artist and barista. His work is genuinely inspired by people he meets but also by landscapes and animals. Daily drawing the line between those subjects helps him to understand what empathy is all about. He feels close to writers such as Guy Debord, Robert Walser or Iain Sinclair and is currently working on a project about cows.
My top tip for Paris, if you’re short on time, is to go up the Montparnasse tower. It’s cheaper than the Eiffel Tower, no queues and you can look over at the Eiffel Tower.

I hope this is allowed. I adore Paris and lived there for four years. My novel, A Sense for Silver is based on the Left Bank, mainly in the rue Daguerre, one of the city’s best food streets and a lovely place to visit on Sundays.
