Victoria Blüm Calligraphy
Small calligraphy business owned and run by Victoria. Small sole trader. Calligraphy for weddings and other events. Commissions available.
✨Well this cheered me up today.✨
✨How are you? ✨What a rollercoaster we’re on! First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you who have supported my business. If you’ve ever attended a workshop, bought a product, booked a wedding or just liked and shared my post. Doing this makes a huge difference to every small business out there. Please shop small this year, if you can.
✨Today I’m sharing some of my favourite local businesses or people I know and have worked with. It might surprise you to know I’ll recommend other calligraphers. This is something I will always do. If I’m not in a position to do work for someone, I’ll always signpost them to another calligrapher. I truly believe that if you’re in an industry and can’t do work for someone, you should always recommend someone else. There’s room for everyone and the industry relies on it!
1✨ - beautiful letters from Father Christmas put together by Rachel at Luna Mail. I have the pleasure of writing these gorgeous envelopes.
2✨ - cute little biscuits and a Christmas Eve box collection.
3✨ - pretty tree decorations and prints designed by Nina, amongst some other adorable products.
4✨ - a macrame book! This would be a fabulous Christmas gift. Isabella has some great free tutorials available too.
5✨ - handmade jewellery or book in for one of Fiona’s popular workshops.
6✨ everyone I know has one of these! This business is run by Lou and she’s worked so hard to make these as popular as they are today.
7✨ - very popular kits made by Casey in her converted barn on her farm!
8✨ - the one who taught me everything I know✨I always get asked for brush lettering kits and these look perfect.
9✨ does fabulous bespoke products. I absolutely adore her illustrations - she’s pretty lovely too.
10✨ -the one stop shop for all your calligraphy needs - run by Lauren of & her sister.

I’m obsessed with doing monochrome place settings and pretty much every plate that has.

Scratchy ✒️scratchy. Handmade paper with watercolour background and Copper Plate Gold. Really hard to film the hairlines on this paper with this beautiful ink. Remember me saying how much better my videos will be when I actually get a proper holder? Yeah....must get one of those.

Classic black and white place cards. It’s not often you get this combination now but I love the simplicity of it.

Hello! How are you all? It’s been five months since I lasted posted- what a strange old time this has been. This was the last job I had out of the house at for Valentines Day. I wouldn’t have believed what was about to happen then - all my workshops got cancelled and all the weddings postponed. I retreated into the home schooling bubble and didn’t have to think about juggling work but I’m so glad to be back, it really is a tonic. I take my hat off to those who were working and home schooling 🍷 I really feel for some of my friends and colleagues that weren’t able to survive this time. When you think about running your own business, you don’t give much thought to pandemics! This week, normality has returned and I’ve sooo enjoyed being back at my desk writing for some lovely companies and people. Wedding work is beginning again and a few people have asked my about workshops. Anyway, just thought I’d pop on and say hello and I hope you all got through it unscathed. I will be doing a reduced workload until the middle of September as I’m catching up on some work that got shelved but I’ll be back to full capacity soon. Bring on Autumn 🍂

I hope everyone is safe during this difficult time. Not only is it worrying from a health perspective but also a financial one. I’m so sad for friends of mine who depend on face to face contact, cafe owners, hairdressers, gym instructors, the list goes on. I have taken the decision to cancel all my workshops until further notice. Those held at venues are unavoidably cancelled and those that are held at my home must also be for the health and safely of everyone. We all have a social responsibility to keep each other safe. If you have booked through my website then you will be entitled to a full refund as I know how difficult it will be to reschedule. If you’d like to have a kit to do at home instead, just let me know and I’ll pop it in the post. If you haven’t booked a workshop but you’d like something to do whilst at home then please visit my website and order a kit. 🖊
I have visions of us emerging from this pandemic like animals out of hibernation. With all the sadness that people will suffer will come good. Technology keeps us at a distance from our friends, family and strangers but I’m sure in weeks to come we’ll again learn to appreciate the necessity and value of real human contact❤️
|| Calligraphy & Cake || I had such a great evening at . We had a full house and it was lovely to see so many different people wanting to learn. The next workshop is at the end of the month. Click in to link to book.

Oh hi! This is a perfectly natural photo of me pretending to write. It’s about two years old so I think I might need another. On a serious note it seems appropriate to say thank you to everyone that has supported my business by buying products, booking workshops or sharing my work. I’m so grateful to you for investing in me and shopping small. Oh and my calligraphy kits are still available - link in bio 😉

Starting to think about the advent calendar for this year. Last year I did mini envelopes filled with little trinkets or a note. This year I’m not going to use any plastic. When I was thinking about what to do, my daughter found these envelopes from last year. We’ve decided she can use these ones for her classmates. Each day she’ll write a nice note and give it to someone at school. 💌It honestly doesn’t bother me about academic achievements. If she’s kind, that’s another good human in the world.

This was meant to be a GIF but it ended up taking too long so I’ll have to settle for the plain old written word instead. I loooove Autumn and I loooove October. There are a lot of workshops going on this month at and with another at in November. I’ve also had a lot of private workshop bookings which is great. Link in bio for the classes and courses or drop me an e mail if you’d like a private lesson.

Getting the brushes out this week (thank you for these). Was meant to start learning Japanese this summer but life got in the way. Promised myself that I’ll start soon. Yes, these are Chinese brushes but I’ve got to start somewhere.

☀️ First day of the holidays ☀️ It’ll be pretty quiet on here over the summer. I’ll be back in September with more workshops and events. If you’ve asked to be notified of dates, I’ll be in touch soon. I hope you all manage to get some kind of a break over the next few weeks. 💫 This was a simple brown paper banner done for The Creative Meet-up at ******er hosted by and - I hear it was a good one.

Saturday’s workshop at . Such a lovely bunch and they all took to it so well. I was particularly impressed with Kimberly (14) who travelled from Somerset with her Dad especially for the workshop. What a lovely thing to do with a parent. is such a great space - modern and tranquil. I’ll be planning some more after the summer so let me know if you’d like to be notified when the dates are released.

Next week it’s (thank you for the reminder!) What a fabulous day it was with and 🌸 How fortunate I was to be a part of the show. This day, more than any other made me realise how hard florists and growers work. I mean, I knew but I didn’t really know. Early mornings, extreme heat, lifting, lugging, organising, timing and nursing cut hands. Hats off to you all.

Oh hi! Long time no post. Over six weeks in fact. I’d love to tell you about all the amazing work things I’ve been doing but wedding season isn’t over so I can’t share anything yet. I had an unplanned break from social media and it was filled with wedding work, workshops and kids parties. I’m trying to fit everything in before the summer holidays. My last workshop of the season will be at on 20th July. It’s sold out but we hope to have more coming up soon. I’ve got some different ones coming up in the autumn term at - you can get 10% off until the end of July. I’ll be doing courses and all new Christmas and wedding workshops. I will put a link in the bio to send you straight to their website. Anyway, hope you’ve all been enjoying the sun/rain/wind ☀️🌧 🌬
