It was lovely to be back hosting a single malt whisky tasting at this afternoon. Such a beautiful venue and fantastic people to work with. Our guests enjoyed 6 awesome single malt Scotch whiskies paired with selected cheeses, salmon, fruits and other awesome nibbles.
Can't wait to be back in the next few months 😀
I had a fabulous day spent walking around Oslo, first the the sculpture park and then onto Bygdoy passing on the way. Visited a couple of favourite shops including a great record store followed by a look around the huge City Hall.
I'm hosting a tasting in Oslo at the fantastic Dr. Jekylls bar tomorrow, best whisky bar in Norway with a mighty fine range of drams.
I love a pint on a Sunday afternoon so have been enjoying one or two in favourite spots.

With Father's Day only a week or so away I thought I'd let you know that I have just a few bottles of our latest Fraoch Mointeach Edition XV single cask single malt whisky available to purchase. A bottle of this beautiful single malt would make a perfect gift.
This awesome whisky was distilled at Mannochmore Distillery in Speyside and spent more than 16 years quietly maturing in a first fill oloroso sherry cask. The cask has given a subtle sherry influence to the spirit rather than overpowering the distillery character which I feel is very important.
Each label is signed and numbered and the illustration was skillfully created by Dr Curly's Toothbrush Illustrations.
The cost per bottle is £130 and we can arrange delivery to UK addresses.
Please send a message if you would like to order!
If you are lucky enough to have tasted this lovely whisky already please leave your comments below 🙃
Such a privilege to host a whisky tasting for 200 delegates at a conference at Glasgow University last night where Justina (), Becca () and I presented 4 different drams to showcase Glasgow and the rest of Scotland.
Thanks to Lucia, Mark and Manuel from the physics department for all the help to deliver such a great event. We can't wait to be back!

At lunchtime we headed to Ardnahoe Distillery for their open day and from there we made our way to Ardbeg for a tasting of rare whiskies which was fantastic. It was great to catch up with Jackie.
In the evening we walked out to a remote bothy before tucking in to another meal specially prepared by chef John.

What a day here in the Hebrides! Today we visited Caol Ila Distillery for their Feis Ile open day in the morning and after lunch headed to the neighbouring Isle of Jura and Distillery.
Our guests took part in a comprehensive distillery tour followed a tasting including drams straight from the cask one of which was a 33 year old single sherry hogshead.
Chef John served sea bass for dinner and we enjoyed a few drams as the sun began to set here at Lossit Farmhouse.

I am delighted to let you know that I have launched my latest whisky, Fraoch Mointeach Edition XV Speyside single cask single malt Scotch whisky.
This beautiful whisky was distilled at Mannochmore Distillery near Elgin, Moray more than 16 years ago and it was matured in a first fill oloroso sherry cask.
The whisky was bottled at natural cask strength which in this case was 54.5%abv. It was bottled without unnecessary artificial colourings or chill filtration. As ever the illustration for the label was created by Matthew Sharp AKA Dr Curly's toothbrush illustrations. Each label is individually numbered and signed.
The whisky is incredibly easy drinking despite the high abv and will be very much enjoyed by those who like a "sherry bomb".
There are only 125 bottles of this amazing whisky release and they are likely to sell quickly, so please let me know if you would like to order any as soon as possible. Bottles are priced at £130 each.
Tasting notes:
Colour: Deep red
Nose: Rich aromas of sherry, spices and coffee
Palate: Oily with ripe woodland fruits, plums, raisins, red apple, chocolate and anise
Finish: Incredibly long with lots of sherry and chocolate......very enjoyable!
Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to place an order and I will reserve a bottle or two for you!
Today is the last day of our Distilled Events Guided Speyside & Highlands Distilleries Experience and and we visited two Chivas sites that I have never been to before. In the morning my guests joined a tour and tasting at The Glenlivet Distillery and this afternoon we headed to the most beautiful distillery that I have ever seen, Strathisla Distillery Home of Chivas.
Alison was our host who very kindly gave me a very quick tour of the distillery before my guests enjoyed a tasting which included sampling Chivas Regal 18yo straight from the cask in the warehouse as well as a two different expressions of Strathisla and a cask strength Longmorn.
It is sad that we have come to the end of the trip but it has been a fantastic week that saw us visit no less than 17 whisky industry sites.
Thanks to my guests all the way from Canada for making it such an enjoyable experience. Haste ye back to Scotland.

We had a great tour and tasting at Glen Garioch Distillery today. It was awesome to see the recently reinstated malt floor and to have a look at areas of the distillery that I'd never been to before.
As ever there were plenty of fantastic drams including one from a single rum cask and another from a single red wine cask.

Today was great fun - lovely to see David from Distilled Events with such a cool bunch of guests all the way from Canada - they will be touring , tasting and visiting many distilleries in Spey side this week under the supervision of David - they’re in for a good time 🥃🏴🎶🥃🏴🎶👍👍
The sun decided to make an appearance today as we headed down to Distillery near Rothes. Our guide Alec gave us the most fantastic tour of the distillery, starting in the historic drum maltings and then through the entire process before finishing in the visitor centre for a tasting in front of the fire.
We stopped for a dram at Craigellachie Bridge and then headed to Distillery for another tour and tasting.
By chance I bumped into two former work colleagues at Cardhu. It was great to catch up with Elaine Ritchie and Emer Pritchard who I haven't seen since leaving Diageo 7 years ago. (Sean Pritchard we must go for that pint next time I'm up!)
Another great day is ahead for my guests tomorrow as we'll be heading to see at Glen Garioch and then on to Cragganmore Distillery.

We visited Speyside Cooperage Visitor Centre Ltd just outside the village of Craigellachie this morning, I've not visited for a long time. It is amazing to watch the coopers at work in this incredibly noisy workshop where dozens off them wallop and thump the life back into casks needing repairs. The coopers are paid per cask so it is a fast paced environment as well as noisy.
Later on my guests enjoyed a whisky tasting at Aberlour Distillery before making the short journey up the road to visit Glenallachie Distillery. I enjoyed a walk from Aberlour up to Glenallachie along the Aberlour Burn and falls
Another great day!

A bumper distillery day here in Scotland with visits to 4 fantastic distilleries. First thing this morning Nick from Craigellachie Cars picked us up from our house in Fochabers and pointed our minibus Tomatin Whisky Distillery way where we had a great tour followed by a full tasting of distillery exclusive bottlings skillfully hosted by Rosemary.
Next stop was at Balmenach Distillery home of Caorunn Gin where we tasted straight through their range of awesome, and I might add, proper, Scottish gins.
We had a little time window open up so I decided that we should call in at one of my very favourite new distilleries, Dunphail Distillery, sister distillery to Bimber Distillery in London. Visitor centre manager Mike very kindly gave us an impromptu tour of the distillery before we headed off towards Elgin where we enjoyed a comprehensive tour of Glen Moray Distillery hosted by Sophie and concluded with a tasting of their lovely heritage range of single malt whiskies.
Another packed day tomorrow will see us start off at Speyside Copperage to watch lots of casks being rebuilt and repaired.
