It’s time for better. Whenever they call the election, it’s time to vote the Tories out.
Biffa collections are still scheduled as usual, but there may be some disruptions due to Storm Ciaran. Please do not place your bins out the evening before your collection, but ensure they are available from 7am onwards.

Sussex Day
Celebrate our beautiful county on 16 June each year.
Sussex Day on 16 June has become a popular way for residents to celebrate its rich heritage and everything that is good about the county.
The date was chosen because it is St Richard's Day, which marks the life of St Richard, Bishop of Chichester from 1245 until his death in 1253.
We will shortly be commencing memorial safety inspections at Littlehampton Cemetery and aim to complete this work by March 2024.
We have a duty of care to ensure that memorials in our cemeteries and closed churchyards are safe.
We test the stability of memorials by hand using a force no greater than 25kg. All staff who undertake memorial inspections and tests are appropriately trained to do so.
Where memorials are found to be in a dangerous or unstable condition we shall make safe by either:
▶️ Laying down the memorial
▶️ Staking and banding the memorial
▶️ Cordoning off the area
A notice shall be fixed to the memorial explaining that it has failed. If we have up to date contact information then the owner of the exclusive right of burial will be notified of this in writing as soon as possible.
Owners are asked to contact a monumental mason who will apply to us to undertake appropriate repairs within 28 days. If the memorial has not been suitably repaired after this time we may take steps to permanently make the memorial safe.
Memorials will only be laid down when:
▶️ A genuine and immediate risk to health and safety is apparent
▶️ There is unlikely to be a living or traceable owner
▶️ The last burial was undertaken more than 30 years ago
For any queries please contact the Cemeteries Service by emailing [email protected] or leaving us a message on 01903 737954 and we’ll call you back.
