On the 25th May I had the pleasure with my wife Louise to visit St.Michael’s school.
People across the world are encouraged to plant a tree in order to increase and protect the native tree cover. In line with this St.Michael’s Primary school had a tree planting ceremony to mark the occasion of her Majesty’s Jubilee, and both Louise and I were delighted to be invited and take part.
We also were shown around the school by two school pupils.
A lovely morning, thank you St.Michael’s.

A Cheese and Wine event at Parm's cafe in the Park on Friday night for me to raise money for my charity Sandhurst Day Centre. The tables all looked beautiful with vases of flowers and fairy lights also lots of lovely food.
My two granddaughters Aimee and Jessica helped out being waitresses for the evening. Lots of chat and laughter were the order of the evening and thanks to Parm and Manny for putting on this event for me. They both worked so hard making sure my evening was a success.

On Sunday 27th February 2022 I had my Civic Service in St Michaels and All Saints Church. I was joined by some of my family, councillors, the RMAS representative, the Sheriff of Berkshire, the Borough Mayor of Bracknell Forest, Mayor of Bracknell Town, and the residents of Sandhurst who were being awarded Community Certificates for their voluntary work over the last two years.
The service was excellent and I have thanked the Rev. John Castle and the choir for making my Civic Service one for me to remember forever.

Today I was privileged to attend the 20th anniversary of the opening at Salon 31 on the Yorktown Road.
Kirstie opened her salon twenty years ago and she has run a very successful beauty treatment salon over the years. Unfortunately she was closed for nine months due to the pandemic, but now she has re-opened. I was so impressed with her treatment rooms and her clothes and jewellery boutique.
Kirstie also won the coveted "Skincare beauty treatment" for the whole of Berkshire. I congratulate her on this huge achievement.
I feel we should support this wonderful local business run by a local lady. Our community needs good local businesses.

On Saturday night when the lights on the Christmas Tree in the Memorial Park were lit, our Sandhurst Town Council staff came out in all their finery. I will leave you to identify them.

Well done to all of you
for getting into the spirit of the event on a cold winter's night, I thought you were all amazing.

At our lighting of the Christmas Tree on Saturday, the children shouted loudly for Father Christmas and he arrived. Sweets for the children, mulled wine for the adults and hot mince pies for everyone.
A big thank you to the wonderful Sandhurst Town Council Staff who did all the work arranging the event and dressed up in costume. A thank you also to the councillors who turned out to hand out programmes, mulled wine and mince pies.
Once again STC pulled out all the stops for the lovely residents of Sandhurst to enjoy another free event on the park. Just sorry we could not have arranged a warmer evening, but thank you everyone who came along to support us.

On a cold winter's night we lit the Christmas Tree in the Memorial Park. On Saturday 27th November 2021 a large crowd of local people came along to watch the Christmas Tree being lit, sing carols and shout out for Father Christmas.
Pastor Pete Evens conducted the service along with Churches together. The Community Band played music from 5:30 in the freezing cold and it was lovely to hear them. You cannot beat live music.

After the Remembrance Day service I ventured into the Community Hall where the wonderful WI ladies were serving up gallons of tea and coffee plus biscuits of course.

They all looked good in their matching aprons and what a superb job they did looking after us all.

Thank you

Remembrance Day in Sandhurst 15th November 2021 under a grey sky, but no rain. The army and veterans marched down the Yorktown road with the Corp of Drums playing. The residents of Sandhurst turned out in full to remember those who have fallen in war. I was very proud to lay the first wreath on the memorial on behalf of Sandhurst Town Council. I was followed by Lt Col Sam Hull for the RMAS, Cllr Paul Bettisen for BFC and Cllr Dale Birch for the Houses of Parliament. We were then followed by all the clubs in Sandhurst.
The service was given by all churches together and the readings were by the schoolchildren of Sandhurst. The Silver Band played for us and St Michael and All Angels Church Choir sang. It was very much a community event and although a sombre one, there was a good feel about the crowd. Lots of photographs taken around the memorial as parents wanted to remember their children parading for Remembrance Day.
Lest we forget
