You don’t always feel ‘back to normal’ when you finish hospital treatment for primary breast cancer. Coping with the shock of diagnosis, treatment, side effects and worries about recurrence can be hard.
That’s why Moving Forward is here.
The course takes place over two half- days on consecutive weeks with a group of no more than 12-15 people attending.
Through supportive, open conversations in a safe and confidential space, you’ll connect with people who understand. And you’ll get the tools you need to feel more empowered, confident and in control.
Ready to move forward with your life.
To register:
• call 03450771893
• or go online breastcancernow.org/movingforward

Our cancer support centre is a volunteer led charity run and managed by cancer patients for local Fermanagh people affected by cancer. 🧡
The Club hosts a Charity Open Week in aid of SWELL cancer support centre from Saturday 7th September until Friday 13th September. The competition is stableford format and entry is £10 for members with re-entry £5. As it is an Open visitors are welcome to enter for £20.
Founded and managed on a voluntary basis by cancer patients, SWELL (Supported We Live Life) is built on the foundation of recognising and addressing feelings of loneliness, helplessness and anxiety which are synonymous with a cancer diagnosis.
We believe these feelings can best be countered through delivering easily accessible ‘Social Medicine’.
The feeling that comes from knowing you are surrounded by an abundance of people who are ‘all in this together’ is both calming and empowering.
SWELL strive to ensure that cancer patients, their family, friends and carers do not feel alone and that sadness, feelings of loneliness and anxiety are addressed in a safe, friendly and confidential environment.

We have been asked about Holiday insurance cover after a cancer diagnosis. Unfortunately we are unable to recommend any particular insurance company but see link below to apply for UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC)
The UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) lets you get necessary state healthcare in the European Economic Area (EEA), and some other countries, on the same basis as a resident of that country. This may be free or it may require a payment equivalent to that which a local resident would pay.
The UK GHIC has replaced the existing European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
You can apply for a GHIC card using link below ⬇️
https://overseas-healthcare.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/get-healthcare-cover-travelling-abroad/start
GHIC is not a replacement for travel insurance - make sure you have both before you travel.
If you have a pre-existing medical conditions, you should make the insurance company aware so that you are adequately covered.
14 SWELL clients representing many Fermanagh participants were delighted to attend the ‘Commitment to Change Conference’, alongside Health Minister Mike Nesbitt, where the change commitments and outcomes of the Cancer Connected Communities West Project were presented.
The project, led by Derry Well Women, is the first of its kind in Northern Ireland and was developed with support from the The National Lottery Community Fund Northern Ireland.
The project brought together six charities: SWELL , Advice North West, Care for Cancer Omagh, Cancer Focus Northern Ireland and Action Cancer, to connect people affected by cancer to each other, to provide support in the community and link them to the people who deliver cancer services, so they can use their experiences to make mprovements.
The project supported and engaged with over 2000 people affected by cancer living across the entire Western Trust geography including SWELL clients. Participants attended workshops over the course of three years and used their lived experience to improve cancer care by negotiating change with senior representatives from the Western Health and Social Care Trust, Department of Health (Northern Ireland), Public Health Agency, Department for Infrastructure, Macmillan in Northern Ireland and many other organisations.
The change commitments were presented at the final conference in The Ebrington Hotel on Thursday 20th June.
