Baker Hughes 10k in the bag!!! 🏃‍♂️

Being a Board member/Trustee of a charitable organisation not only has the responsibility of governance and growth but also just doing your bit in a practical sense.

So I laced up my ‘creps’ and put those ‘treads’ in gear and took to the route of the Baker Hughes 10K to raise funds for Absafe. Absafe is the charity that provides safety education to children keeping your children safe and aware day to day.

All money raised will go towards creating new safety sets to provide the most relevant safety education for our children.

Another great meeting with repeat visitor , Stephen Fraser and guest visitor from BNI Nexus Chapter in Montrose, Scott Roberts. Stephen Fraser is a start up photography company looking to do intelligent things in the N.E. Our cover photo was shot by him after we summited Bennachie. Katie, covers all areas of Aberdeen/Shire, the highlands and parts of Scotland. 💗

To generate awareness and raise funds, CHSS put on various fun activities and events and one of their flagship event, the Glenlivet 10k has been voted the best 10k event in Scotland.

Katie’s key focus is that they just want people to breathe better and also to ensure the best recovery process after a stroke. “There is life after a stroke”
And this year, their main focus is to double their reach, with wider goals of raising £8M and up to £15M in total.

As an individual, Katie is approachable, super enthusiastic, and dedicated to achieving all that the charity has set out to achieve. A wee go getter!

Terrific meeting yesterday at Solar with super sub, Cakes by Alli-Baba , Oribi and Kathrine Nepute. We had new visitor, Powrie of Casa Subsea, repeat visitor Alex Ferguson, and 3 chapter guests. HR Hub Plus Limited, the Small to Medium Business HR Expert, Barros Properties and from Wellness House.

Education slot was delivered by our awesome director consultant, Karen Arthur with an informative segment on attending training programmes.

Elsewhere these programme cost 100s of pounds but at BNI, it’s either free or a maximum of £20. The benefits, knowledge gained and the connections built with other members of BNI is truly invaluable.

BNI is a model based of metrics and tracking absolutely everything. The more training that members do adds more feathers to their bow, and clearly translates to more business.

Great presentation Claire, very informative. Welcome Lynda Fyffe from Laurie&Co, great to have you as a member. I am delighted also that Kaizah has been recognised by Asthma and Allergy Foundation for our advice and support, thank you Tina for the certificate of appreciation.

This week saw us inducting our newest member Linda Fyffe of and Co Solicitors.

Our visitors were Melanie Ballantyne of and Co Solicitors. Laurie is a commercial property specialist and is soon to be the newest member in the next few weeks! We also had a budding teen entrepreneur Igweke who came along to see what all the fuss about BNI Solar was.
