What do you call them? ...

Ring Keeper? Ring Holder? Ring Saver? Something Else? Let me know in the comments πŸ‘‡

Whatever you call them, I think its safe to say they make the perfect solution to safely store your rings when you cant otherwise wear them. So whether you're doing DIY, being creative, washing dishes, working, or even for medical reasons...you can keep your rings safe and sound and still technically wear them!

Available in my shop now - link in stories πŸ‘†

Do you know how to get the perfect fitting bangle? Here's a little guide to help.

I hope it answers all you bangle measuring questions, but if there's anything else you want to know, drop your question in the comments πŸ‘‡

One of the best things about buying handmade is that you can order custom sizes, so if you measure extra small or extra large, just ask me or pop a note with your order and your bangle will be made to fit πŸ’•
(Custom sizes can take a little longer but turnaround is currently 1-2 weeks)

I do LOVE a good 'banana for scale' post, but in this instance, please keep your measurements to cm, mm or inches!

What's the most random object you've seen used for scale? Let me know in the comments πŸ‘‡

Mine was 'brass hippo'! A member of staff in an old job had been asked to photograph product listings to show scale and instead of choosing a ruler/tape measure, he chose to photograph everything next to a brass hippo! Very helpful!πŸ˜‚

I don't know if you've noticed but I make a LOT of pieces with hearts and stars! I love keeping things simple and these heart bead hoops are just so sweet! πŸ’•

I know you agree because they keep selling out! So you'll be please to know I've just re-stocked them on the website. They'll be re-stocked in .and.oak in the next couple of weeks too!

Head to my stories for a link to buy yours.

Ok, who remembers longwave radio atlantic 252?! I may be showing my age here, but I used to listen to that station every morning before school, and once i even called in and won 20 cds!! This song by James was on one of them and always reminds me of that time!

These simple little star earrings make the perfect gift for mothers day, because 'Shes a star!' 🌟

Can you tell if this is one ring or two?...

This little faux stacker heart ring is actually 1 ring! It is so dainty and simple and has a lovely satin finish. I just loved how the hearts sat together and reminded me of this emoji > πŸ’• !

Also, it looks like this little scamp slipped through the net during the shop update yesterday as I just spotted the pic on my phone! I'll add this to the shop when I'm back in the office on Monday!

Time for some tea, cake and forest wandering! How are you spending your weekend?

πŸ₯°πŸ’˜ Dydd Santes Dwynwen hapus a llawer iawn o gariad i ti! πŸ’˜πŸ₯°

Today is St Dwynwen's Day here in Wales, which many people celebrate like Valentines Day!

St Dwynwen is the Welsh patron saint of lovers & I thought I'd share the story of. St Dwynwen for anyone who doesn't know.

Dwynwen was a 5th century princess, daughter of King Brychan Brycheiniog. Dwynwen fell in love with a prince called Maelon Dafodrill, but unfortunately, her father had already arranged for her to marry someone else. Dwynwen was so upset that she begged God to make her forget Maelon. After falling asleep, Dwynwen was visited by an angel, who appeared carrying a sweet potion designed to erase all memory of Maelon and turn him into a block of ice. God then gave three wishes to Dwynwen. Her first wish was that Maelon be thawed; her second that God meet the hopes and dreams of true lovers; and third, that she should never marry. All three were fulfilled, and as a mark of her thanks, Dwynwen devoted herself to God’s service. She founded a convent on Anglesey, the remains of which can still be seen today.

I hope you have a happy St Dwynwen's Day, let me know what you are up to if you're celebrating today.

πŸ₯°πŸ’˜ Dydd Santes Dwynwen hapus a llawer iawn o gariad i ti! πŸ’˜πŸ₯°

It will run from 10.00 - 1.00 and is suitable for beginners.

I hope to see you there!

Here's a look at one of my favourite custom xmas orders!

I was asked to make a ring keeper necklace for holding wedding rings safely while at the gym. If you're not familiar with them, they're MAGIC! You can pop a ring onto the necklace and keep it securely, without taking off the the necklace. They're perfect for anyone who regularly needs to remove jewellery for work, sport or hobbies.

I'd seen them done before, but this is the first one I'd made. This was made from recycled sterling silver, hand forged wire - completely from scratch!

I melted the silver and rolled it to a square wire. I then twisted the wire, before putting it back through the roller to get a flat edge (you can see it better in the 4th pic!).

Would you find a ring keeper useful? I've just made myself one but not worn it yet. Once I'm back in the workshop tomorrow, I'm sure it will be handy!

Avoiding paperwork like a pro and look what happened...

I definitely need a good day or two to catch up on admin, but while waiting for some pieces to finish in the tumbler, I noticed some silver scraps calling my name and before I knew it, I was on a full side-quest πŸ€£πŸ™ˆ

But it's all good, I ended up making these sweet little pebble pendants with silver, copper, or gold hearts πŸ’› ✨️

Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and let the admin wait a day - especially when your brain is elsewhere!

If you'd like one of these cuties, drop me a message. They're Β£38 for the silver and copper ones and come on an 18" chain. The gold has been snapped up already πŸ’• They'll be up on the website next week (assuming no further side quests need my urgent attention! 🀣)

Love them or hate them, Christmas parties are on the horizon!

A friend and I got chatting about our past parties and what the best and worst were...my favourite was a board games night in the pub, and worst was karaoke! What are yours? Let me know in the comments.

I know some work places go all out for their annual party, but I've always preferred things a bit more low-key! So party for 1 in the workshop with a mince pie suits me! πŸ˜†

You can thank me for this later! But here's an ideal gift for the book-lover in your life. These hand-stamped copper bookmarks can be personalised with a message of your choice, or you can choose from one of the ready made bookmarks. I also have a bookmark featuring a poem by local poet . You can also choose the tassel colour (subject to availability!)

I've stamped some really lovely personal messages on bookmarks over the last few months and I always love the stories behind them. You guys are lovely πŸ₯°

I think my favourite is probably 'I like big books'...but to be honest, 'fell asleep here' is more realistic!

Which message would you choose? Or would you personalise it with one of your own? Let me know in the comments. πŸ’•πŸ“š

I don't know who needs to hear this, but its OK to not like gemstones and sparkly jewellery... And I have to be honest, It's not really for me!

I often get asked why I don't set stones, or use more semi-precious stones in my jewellery - truth be told, I don't want to!

I took all the classes, I spent ages learning different settings and I do quite enjoy the setting process too, but I just don't ever find myself drawn to sparkly gemstones!
I also find myself totally overwhelmed with the varieties and styles, not to mention the ethics of sourcing stones - so I keep it simple!

There's plenty of talented jewellers who do wonderful jewellery with stone setting and spend huge amounts of time and energy sourcing ethical stones, but I enjoy the simplicity of sticking to just metal (& the occasional pebble or piece of sea glass if I find some on one of my walks!)

This ring is one of my favourites - a simple D band with a tiny stamped heart.
I wear mine every day!

Do you prefer simple jewellery without stones? Are you all about the bling? Or somewhere in between? Let me know in the comments, I'm curious :D

I hope you've had a wonderful week...mines been hectic to say the least! But good news, its Friday!

I've spent today re-stocking the Stargazer pieces that had sold out and getting my xmas delivery ready for .and.oak (exciting!).

I'm playing catch-up this weekend and spending most of it in the workshop. What are your plans?

Photos from Rebecca Davies Jewellery's post 06/10/2023

✨🌟🌠Stargazer chunky hoops 🌠🌟✨

This is my latest range and I've changed things up a bit - It is all oxidised and finished in a matt polish instead of my usual super shiny polished finish! I love the softer look it creates and think its perfect for this time of year as we all start getting cosy!

I love stargazing, especially in late Autumn. A flask of hot chocolate and a blanket and the top of a hill πŸ‘Œ We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights when we were in Scotland last year (see the last pic) & I'll definitely be looking out for them again this year, although it's a bit rarer down here in South Wales!

These chunky hoops are available to buy now on my website, along with the rest of the new range. Visit my shop to take a look β¬‡πŸŒŸ

I don't know about you, but I definitely prefer Halloween to Christmas! And with spooky season just around the corner, it seems time to share these terrifyingly cute Skulls & Ghosts! Necklaces or dangly earrings are available in both styles. πŸ’€πŸ‘»

These are all finished in a high shine but i'm thinking they'd look great with an oxidised matt finish too - so i'm off to experiment, and maybe have my first πŸŽƒβ˜• of the season, since the heatwave seems to be over!

Are you team πŸŽƒ or team πŸŽ„? Drop an emoji in the comments and let me know!
