Holy Relics Woodcraft
Holy Relics Woodcraft is my little craft corner in this busy world. I love making things from old pallets.
There is something really deeply wonderful about taking the cheapest throw-away, no good for anything wood and turning it into something beautiful.
It was an absolute joy to create these A2 and A1 solid oak signs (panels printed on dibond aluminium) on behalf of the Seed Community (part of Emmaus Rd Church and the 24-7 prayer community) for their new prayer garden installed at Waverley Abbey House.
The prayer garden is open to all and they are very keen for people to start making use of it. So if you have a spare hour or so and fancy a time with God now the weather is nicer, head over to Waverley Abbey House Gardens and enjoy the beauty, peace and tranquility of this space.
You can book half. Hour slots from 30th April via this link: https://pray.24-7prayer.com/signup/56d0b8/

The first of my "suitable for the home" products which I've been asked about many times. I will definitely be making more smaller scale products for homes in due course. What do you think?
Today has been a day of playing with new ideas. These are both very much prototypes of future items. Would love to hear what people think...

For a national evengelism campaign coming up I've been asked to make 2 different sizes of lit signs. These are painted MDF (for painted MDF see a process which first requires sealing the MDF then putting on multiple layers of paint).
Holy Relics is the personal site of me, Evan. By day I run Eve2 which specialises in printing for churches of all kinds. Thanks to the workshop I have for Eve2 I have the means to create large format stencils - which are perfect for when it comes to doing amazing designs onto wood. So I thought I would do myself a quick stencil of my Holy Relics new logo.
If you would like a stencil for your logo, motto, saying or something else feel free to get in touch! This one is a mere 60cm and I've used it to spray paint onto plain ply wood for a quick and simple effect.
This weekend's project... 1.2m tall cross, distressed pallet wood with dark oak wood stain and white chalk paint.
This hasn't been commissioned so if you'd like to buy it for your church or ministry please get in touch. I simply made it because I wanted to start the new year dedicating my work anew to the Lord.
Another reclaimed pallet wood sign completed. £150.
These signs are big and heavy and use garden festoon lights. All included.
Tonight's little pallet wood DIY project. Another surprise for . This is about 70cm wide. Printed to adhesive paper at the workshop then peeled that and laminated it to a sheet of hardboard and used the nail gun to staple the pallet wood to the backboard. Added a nice black chain. Hey presto.
If you'd like a custom sign making get in touch.
Here's today's project. Used an old cabinet backboard, pallet wood, and a left over bit of timber framing. Blackboard vinyl applied to the backboard then framed with the pallet wood and timber. Hooks bought online.
Can you tell what it is yet?

This piece was saved from the back of an old cabinet we took to the tip.
Wedding letters for Joya and Stephen's wedding. Started life in Adobe illustrator and ended up being giant pallet wood letters on my driveway. Looked beautiful on the day in their reception venue.
Peace was another popular option for huge light up wooden signs last Christmas. This was around 7ft long I believe.
At Christmas I got quite busy making light up signs for churches. This beautiful Hope sign was one of my favourites.
Scaffold board shelving with cast iron wall brackets.
The Cyclone Studios project...
Turns out the U is a terrible shaped letter for overall strength!! Took three attempts at making a solid enough base board for this beast of a sign.
How I made our giant "Put On Love" pallet signboard....
One of my most recent commissions was this pair of signs for a local home based recording studio and music tutor. These are constructed with an 18mm MDF backboard, and faced with reclaimed pallet wood.
Customer said one of his zoom contacts told him he had the best zoom backdrop! Nice.
Started making these gorgeous boxes at the weekend. £15 each. Made from reclaimed wood. Turning the useless and unloved into something beautiful and loveable. Perfect for dog collars and church keys if you're a vicar.
Welcome!
Since I'm getting more requests for my wood projects I thought I would set up a new little side line. This is more hobby and passion than business. If you would like me to make something for you please get in touch.
