Blast from the past!.. Some old cartoons doodled about 20 years ago.. mainly in an attempt to stay awake during staff meetings. Those were the days!
Featuring the adventures of Grumblebelly the Big Dwarf. .. a bit of fun!

Lye rock, the Sisters and Bossiney Haven from the campsite at Trewethett.. my latest canvas insipired by an energetic trip to Cornwall a couple of weeks ago. The finished article and two "in progress" shots.
More to come!.. it was an inspiring trip.

New inspired by a recent trip to Cornwall... "Sunset over Bossiney.". stages 1+ 2. Hopefully finished tomorrow on a rainy day in the garage.

Latest watercolour. The railway arch ( disused) near Windsor Hill Shepton Malet. A fave spot to sit and doodle, and a lovely pause on the walk to Maesbury Castle.

Never get tired of this local stroll.. Up the railway to the tunnels, over the fields to Maesbury castle and the brilliant trees.

19th-21st July – this coming weekend – it's ArtatEype, an annual 3-day group exhibition at Eype Centre for the Arts near Bridport.

Featuring nine diverse artists from around Dorset (and a bit beyond): David Brooke Artist, Pottery by Jo Burnell, Cobbart, Sally Davies art, Esther Jeanes Paintings, Babs Kirby, Podi Lawrence, Elizabeth Sporne Art and Darren Wheeler RPT, Woodturner and Sculptor, with all on hand to chat about their work.

Free entry, free parking for venue visitors (the car park has the best sea view!), light refreshments available with proceeds to Weldmar Hospicecare and the Alzheimer's Society, and well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Open Friday & Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm.

The show is open to the public 19th, 20th and 21st July, 10am to 5pm Friday and Saturday, 10am to 4pm Sunday.

Just back from the lovely art gallery in Weston-super-Mare where a couple of my paintings are being added to the "Reflection:Somerset Aspects" show. It's a nice venue. Light and airy with some great art ( as well as my stuff!) well worth a visit.!

Three exhibitions on the go this week.
At in Shepton I've gone for a change... a few watercolours and drawings in amongst the usual bigger acrylics, at Weston-super-Mare there's a new canvas and a new(ish) tree row and at Eype I'll be showing more canvases. Busy week. ... brilliant!

Busy week ahead!
Paintings in three shows!.. Shepton, Weston-super-Mare and Eype.. I'll be at the Eype one on Thurs, Fri, Sat... looking forward to all three!

All nine of our 2024 exhibitors have now been announced and the start of our ART@EYPE exhibition is exactly one month away.

Between now and then we'll be revealing more bits about the artists, the show and the beautiful venue, Eype Centre for the Arts.

...and this one is definitely going to the show at . One of my favourite places.. Herbury on the Fleet, near . A stunning spot.

Thinking of what to take to for the show next week. These are all .. two of stormy and one of a derelict boat on the Fleet. Appropriate, but I'm not sure as they're all a few years old.

I shall be enjoying the air for a few days.. along with a few doodles and daubs... at this "do". Looking forward to meeting new artists and a new audience.
