Why do I love Steve Treatment?
The late Steve Treatment was a one-off. Steve’s glam inflected bedroom rock was just punk enough to catch my attention for a second and unique enough to keep it for a lifetime. From his seminal late 70s recordings with Swell Maps - awash with backwards guitars, layered vocals and ad libs - through his home recorded melancholia and outsider folk in the 80s and 90s, to his latter day recordings with the NoMen, there was no one quite like Steve. Today we honour his memory on the 8th anniversary of his passing. A true original who put everything into his music.

Steve Treatment Steve Treatment was a pioneer of the UK DIY punk movement in the late 70s. His main influence was Marc Bolan and T Rex.
