Bariville is a 17th Century Farmhouse situated on a working farm. This lovely house sleeps 11 plus c The farmers maintain the farm immaculately.
Bariville has been in our family since the late 19th century, but was not regularly lived in after the 2nd World War. Now the house and farm have been divided and the farmers, who have also farmed the land for several generations, live in the smaller half of the house. Some of the old beech trees down the bottom end of the farm, and a chestnut tree, had to be felled recently, as they were rotten inside. I counted the rings on one.....they are about 120 -150 years old!
A new woodburner has finally been installed, just in time for the damp spring we're having!! Along with a new chimney liner....over 20m long!!

More About Our House
Bariville has been in our family since the late 19th century, but was not regularly lived in after the 2nd World War. Now the house and farm have been divided and the farmers, who have also farmed the land for several generations, live in the smaller half of the house. The farmers maintain the farm immaculately.
The unique Normandy light, which attracted many famous artists (e.g.Claude Monet) to this area, is lovely here and would inspire any budding artist or photographer.
Location:
Almost halfway between Dieppe and the Le Havre; Bariville is situated in the Pays de Caux, on a plateau of open farmland intersected by wooded valleys, and is 3 miles from the ancient fishing port of Fécamp. There are many little seaside villages with pebbly beeches and rock pools. The long sandy beeches are about an hours drive on the other side of the beautiful Pont de Normandy.
Bedrooms:
First Foor:
Main Bedroom (bedroom 1) ~ A Large Spacious bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.
Cloud Room (bedroom 2) ~ This single bedroom can only be accessed via the main bedroom. It has access to the main bedrooms' en-suite bathroom, through a separate door.
Nanny's Room (bedroom 3) ~ A small bedroom with a single bed and lovely views across the farm.
Second Floor:
Rose Room ( bedroom 4) ~ A lovely cottage style room with a double bed.
Sunflower room (bedroom 5) ~ 2 Single beds, with views to the back of the house, where you can watch the chickens scratching about in their large grassy run.
Grey Room (bedroom 6) ~ This room has twin beds, which can be used for a couple or used singly. This room has an en-suite toilet and sink.
Daisy Room (bedroom 7) ~ Can only be accessed through the Grey room and has a single bed.
There is also a cot which can be used where appropriate.
**Bedding is provided, but not linen, you will need to bring your duvet covers, sheets and english style pilowcases.
Bathrooms:
Bariville has 3 bathrooms; one on each floor, plus an en-suite toilet and sink in the Grey Room on the second floor.
Each Bathroom has a shower and the ground floor bathroom has a small bath especially suitable for little children who can't manage to shower independently.
Kitchen:
The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances:-
~ Cooker, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Microwave, Coffee maker
The table in the kitchen will seat 12, and the french dresser gives the kitchen a warm farmhouse feel.
Sitting Room:
The sitting room is large and spacious with plenty of room for every-one. It has four large windows that look out onto 3 sides of the house and enjoys good light nearly all day. It has traditional painted wooden panelling through out.
There is a wood-burning stove with an initial supply of logs, for those chilly evenings or just for the pleasure of having a real fire, when you curl up in one of the large comfy chairs and relax!
Hall and Staircase:
The hall is large with a lovely wide tiled staircase, and wrought iron bannister. There are maps of the locality and region on the wall to help you plan your outings.
