A FOND FAREWELL...Andy and I have had to call it a day with Sun Dog Days..the time isn't right for us to continue our live gigs and sadly, we have cancelled everything in our diary.
As some of you may know, Andy is turning an exciting new page in his book of life, heading off to Dartmoor with his partner to have a go at the 'Good Life'. They have found a beautiful location on the edge of the moors and hope to realise their dreams with a smallholding..there is a lot of work to be done and very time consuming, throwing their hearts and souls into their new venture. I hope you will join me in wishing them the very best of luck in the future.
I have been totally preoccupied with looking after my dear ol'pa who is getting very frail in his old age and haven't had any time to devote to Sun Dog Days..sometimes there are even more important things than music!
So, after three years of making sweet music with my piano man I wave a fond farewell to Andy and our project. We had some beautiful times together..all happy memories to revisit in my rocking chair. You never know, when the time is right, we may have the 'big come-back' tour, Ha ha...Never say never!
In the meantime our cd, 'The Levels' is still available for sale and you can contact us here or on our website. I will still be singing with my Rhythm and blues band,The Jury and hope to see you out there in the near future. (Next gig, Sunday 14th June, Bar Brunel, Bridgwater 6pm..plug, plug!)
Finally, an enormous thank you to every one we have met along the way, for all your support and friendship.

SUN DOG DAYS~Willow Man Remix
Starlings..Watching, hearing and feeling the movement of millions of starlings coming into roost in the warmth and relative safety of the reed beds is a mesmerising experience out on the Somerset Levels as the sun sinks below the horizon through the winter months.
They fly over head in small groups at first as the sun sets ..the numbers swell into the millions as the light fades and they circle round and round swooping into the reeds. The swirling movement shifts the air around you. As they land the noise builds while the birds squabble over their perches.
The reed beds look like black oil slicks and the scrub trembles under the huge weight of Starlings as they gradually settle.
I hope this little video just gives you an idea..you have to be there! It was a grey night and I hope to get better footage soon on a brighter evening. I have at least until February!

Well...that was a lovely gig last night at the Hawthorns..Thank you for supporting us especially Tom Quinton and Pippin, Simon Drew, Phil Havercroft and Vicky Butt who presented me with a beautiful pink pumpkin at the end of the night! Great to see Simon Sturt the fabulous landlord has shaved his beard off all for charity and just to say..if you are out that way (Glastonbury) and fancy a cosy candlelit night, with utterly delicious food and music..The Hawthorns Hotel is the place to be!
