Don’t forget the gnome hunt is on again today it’s looking like a lovely day for it ☀️share a picture if you spot our preschoolers on a bear hunt!

🇳🇴One of our children at Ridgeway is part Norwegian. We had the most wonderful day on Thursday celebrating Norway’s constitution day.
🇳🇴We made Norwegian flags, learned some facts about Norway, listened to the Norwegian national anthem and danced with ribbons to music 🎶
🇳🇴By far my favourite part is that on the constitution day the children are allowed to eat as much icecream as they like! So we all had a special treat enjoyed a yummy icecream🍦

🐈This week we are enjoying pets week - we were very lucky to have a visit from Belle bunny 🐰. We learned how to look after and keep her healthy 😊
The children learned how to be gentle when stroking her and even gave her a brush!

The Ridgeway children have been loving using and exploring our giant weighing scales this week ⚖️

It has been a great activity to help the çhildren to understand how to compare two or more objects!
It helps children to determine what objects they can pick easily and what objects they cannot👍
It helps children to work on their thinking and problem-solving skills 🤔
It will later help kids to understand the concept of volume, mass, and measurement.
We change what we weigh and let the children choose too 🌟
We have also seen some awesome team work and lots of giggles too 😄
A happy week all round 😊

Eddy is so , so proud of his Mummy Roz Yn who successfully ran the London Marathon on Sunday 👏 🏃🏻‍♀️ 👏

We are all so proud too and very thankful that Ros chose Ridgeway Playgroup as her Charity to raise money for 🥰

Ridgeway Playgroup children have been busy making our Gnome Hunt stop for this weekend ! 🥰 Look out for it ☺️

🌹 Today something VERY exciting happened 😀

💛 We had a very special letter In the post from King Charles lll and Queen Camilla 👑

👑 A few months ago the Ridgeway children all worked really hard to make a beautiful Celebration Coronation card 💐

❤️ We sent it to Buckingham Palace 🏰 posted it at our local Post Office 🏬 and have been eagerly awaiting a reply 😀

And today we recieved this beautiful card and letter - the children and staff were equally delighted 😀 ❤️ and we wanted to share this with you all 👑

Ridgeway playgroup has taken delivery of some fabulous new , natural , recycled storage boxes .

We will be using to these to store our toys and resources in a move away from using plastic boxes which get broken very easily .

Made by a local tradesman and beautifully handcrafted and also stackable 😊

Really exciting news 🙌

Ridgeway Playgroup is in the Tesco community Grant scheme 😊

Please remember to ask for tokens at the till when you are shopping and let's see if we can fill up our section the most 💞

We are in the in Bussage , Paganhill , Nailsworth and Tesco Stroud 🥰

If we manage to get the most tokens we are hoping to be able to get some sort of outdoor classroom - so exciting 😀

🇬🇧🇬🇧 Today we have explored red , white and blue paint - a Ridgeway Playgroup appropriate way to think about our amazing
🌹 "Queen Elizabeth" 🌹 who sadly passed away yesterday X

Some of our older children have taken this on board and we have talked about this news and how very sad it is for everyone 🇬🇧🇬🇧

And of course we have been looking at our precious letter that we received from The Queen , earlier this year , after we all sent her a handmade Jubilee celebration card ❤

We will keep this on display at Ridgeway Playgroup, Bussage Village Hall , forever as an honour to The Queen and as an amazing memory for us always ❤

Some of our 22 Leavers that we said goodbye to 😢 We presented each one with their Learning Journey of their time with us at Ridgeway Playgroup and a beautiful Ridgeway Playgroup Teddy bear 🧸 so that they always remember their happy times with us 😊

Our fabulous new climbing frame that we bought with some of the money we fundraised this past year 👏 it is already a great hit with all of our children 😀
A good , physical challenge for our Ridgeway children 👍 🌟

Another year has ended at Ridgeway Playgroup.
It has been a year full of fun and laughter 😍
We have all had so many experiences and learned about so many things 😊
🚔 We have had a visit from our local Community Police Officers . It was lovely to hear about being able to keep safe and talk to our local community officers when we see them out and about 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️
🚒 A visit from our local Fire officers - the children listened beautifully to them as they talked about fire safety - we were so proud 👏 And then they got explore the fire engine too 🚒 which was so exciting 😀
🌻 We have used our beautiful garden to the maximum - digging , planting , running , jumping , climbing , exploring , splashing and much more 😀 We are also so proud of our new climbing frame/slide/den that we bought with all of the money we raised for Ridgeway this last year 😊 the children a love it 💜
☠ We all enjoyed a Pirate Themed Week - the highlight being our Pirate Obstacle Course which ended in finding Pirate treasure💰 ✨ 🏴‍☠️
🦋 A real favourite has been following the Life Cycle of a Butterfly . From tiny caterpillars 🐛 to beautiful butterfly's . We fed them and watched the grow - and all sat together to release them into our garden 🌻
🇬🇧 We learned about The Queen and celebrated her Jubilee - and we even sent her a card which we all helped to make - and we received a very special letter in return which we proudly display in Bussage Village Hall 👸 👑
🎉Finally we all had an amazing Leavers Party in our local park - we hired a bouncy castle and also had a visit from Cotswold Ice-cream Co too 🍦

Ridgeway Playgroup were lucky enough to have a special guest visit last week .
His name is Gary and he is a Giant African Land Snail 🐌
He lives with one of our children and her family and this was his second visit to see us 😊
He loves to eat lettuce , mealworms , cucumber and tomatoes 🍅
The children were all quite fascinated and each got a close look and were able to touch his shell to feel how hard it was 💙
We then each drew a picture of Gary to stick into our Ridgeway Learning Journeys - a special book that each child has documenting their time with us at Ridgeway with photographs , artwork and milestones achieved 😀
We couldn't believe how much he had grown since we last saw him 🐌
We have been learning lots more this term about all different kinds of insects and creepy crawlies - worms , bees , ladybirds , snails and we even have some caterpillars 🐛 that are just tucking themselves up into their cocoons - when they emerge as butterfly's we will love setting them free in our fabulous garden 🦋
The children have all loved this topic ❤
