The excitement of new possibilities is in the air for Chosen Women Outreach as we launch our mentoring initiative today at 1pm; celebrating Enterprise Week. I have the opportunity to serve this wonderful charity which does so much good for women in need here in the UK and especially in Nigeria. You are specially invited!

Think of a world without doctors, nurses, midwives, health assistants, social workers, psychologists, therapists and the list could go on. These practitioners do a lot of good to keep people living longer, living without pain and living healthier and meaningful lives. But sometimes they provide such care at the expense of their own well-being. Therefore, to celebrate Black History Month in the UK, we are championing the well-being of black health and social care practitioners. With what's happening in Ukraine many women are going to be left without their husbands who are fighting the war. Therefore, it couldn't be more timely to be having a conversation with a woman who has a heart for widows. Having been a widow herself, Yemi is at the forefront of breaking the bias and sometimes the shame that comes from being a widow. The start of March marks the start of Women's Empowerment Month in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham including the celebration of International Women's Day. Grateful that we are finally getting over the pandemic. What a 2 years, it has been! That said, I'm very delighted to have had the opportunity to take part in a book project, lead and co-ordinated by my friend, Dr Arinola Araba. Eight women coming together to share their ups, downs, pivoting, navigating and indeed, WALKING through the pandemic. In the spirit of collaborating, we are supporting this charitable event put together for women by women.
