This record is a special piece of work and a special one for me to have contributed towards :)
Firstly from a drumming perspective, the unique collection of songs offered me the opportunity to honour (be a low budget version of 😂) of a number of my drumming heroes all on one record 🥁
From Vinnie Collaiuta to Bernard Perdie, Manny Elias to JR Robinson. Danny Carey on the albums' masterpiece (in my humble view) 'Resistance' 🎶
Secondly, it is one of the studio projects I was fortunate to be able to poor my creative energies into during the darkness of the pandemic. All will always hold a special significance for me beyond the music that was created.
Ryan is a special talent and I highly recommend checking out this piece of work.

On the road with ELO AGAIN (again). This weekend we come to Telford and Stockport 🥁🎶🎸

I first heard Slipknot sat on the team mini bus on a cricket tour of the West Indies when I was 15. I'd never really listened to metal so a team mate (who knew I was a drummer) handed me his headphones and insisted I listen to this new band 'Slipknot' to see what I thought.

On came 'Wait and Bleed.' I'd never heard anything like it! The vocals, the riffs, and of course drumming like I'd never heard and didn't even know was possible!

There are very few records or bands I can pinpoint and return to the exact moment I first heard them. Slipknot is one of them.

On my first visit to Shrewsbury after the tour I returned home with Slipknot's self titled album alongside Alien Ant Farm's 'ANThology' and Blink 182's 'E***a of the State.' (Not a bad collection!)

I've been lucky to have been a part of the metal community, had opportunities to play some wonderful music and met many good friends in it. Without that moment on the bus, who knows if or when I'd have gotten into metal. That first impression is key and my goodness that was a heck of a first impression!

Jordison's impact on my drumming and my musical journey is immeasurable. As musicians we are the sum of those players that have inspired us. Joey Jordison's playing will live on in our playing and teaching.

Rest in Peace Joey Jordison.

A fun day yesterday at Monnow Valley. Back for more today!

Awesome evening with drum students from around Cardiff, many experiencing Drum Depot in all it's wonder for the first time! Great initiative and very glad to be a part of it :)

Evening.

After work, usually on a Monday, some of us stay behind, have a catch up, thrash out some ideas, make plans, play drums and generally hang out. Amongst us here, this became known as the Drum Depot Monday Club

Last year we decided to invite mates along to our shenanigans. Again, we all hang, play drums, see what ideas come up etc.

What if we then took that to another level... Like inviting YOU to attend a FREE event to further your drumming knowledge, have a jam with us, just hang out and learn? We've actually been doing that since the start of the year but haven't advertised it as we wanted to get it up and running and iron out any creases...

Tonight is our first official We invited the pupils of local schools to get involved in a number of small group masterclasses held here between 5.30pm and 9pm. Here's a pic of the first group getting on down to Aled Lloyd Drums doing his thang (and lovin' it).

The will take place on the first Monday of every month. The events will be FREE. The next one is on Monday 3rd April. We've already planned it. We'll let you know more about it very soon...
