No reason, but I love France - how much would I enjoy running The Tin Box over there? Apart from more reliable weather there's places like this! But you know what, the rainy weather makes England, and I love it...we are resilient, and can party in the rain like no one else!

A NICE G&T
you really can't best a good G&T, especially sitting outside on a Summer evening....if the sun's shining so much the betterπŸŒžπŸΈπŸ‹. I"m not keen on the favoured varieties...just a good old fashioned regular Sipsmithsgin, ice, lemon and Fevertree Elderflower or Mediterranean tonic. How do you like yours?.

I love rose wine when it's hot, so obvs don't drink it much in this country 😁. Rose is thought to be the oldest type of wine as it is the simplest to make. The grapeskins are left in contact with the juice for a very short time..
Rose ranges from the dry Provencal roses (my personall faves...the paler the better for me as it usually means they are less sweet...in my extensive research.) to the sweeter Zinfandels.
The majority of wine produced in Provence is Rose - ideal partner for the food of the region such as bouilliabaise (fish stew). If you ever find yourself in that region of France make sure you visit one of the wine chateaux. Tchin tchin 🍷🍷🍷. # .

It doesn't have to be alcoholic! This soooo refreshing Rosemary lemonade was made with freshly sqeezed lemons, fresh sprigs of rosemary and sweetened just lightly with honey and a bit of icing sugar. Add ice and serve....perfect for those long hot days we've been having πŸ‹πŸ‹πŸ‹πŸŒžπŸŒžπŸŒž

It's getting there...paint job almost finished. Just need to order the signage and fit out the interior...a bit of a big job actually but I keep telling myself it's not....Can' t wait till we are finally on the road and seeving drinks from The Tin Box Bar. πŸΉπŸΈπŸ·πŸ»πŸΊπŸ˜„πŸ˜πŸ€πŸŒž

After many months of inactivity on The Tin Box due to various circumstances including a house move, we have made a start on the next stage of the conversion. I can't bear to part with it as we had decided, so in the next 6 months or so, The Tin Box will be up and running as a mobile bar, available to hire for private events, weddings, fetes, Christmas parties...wherever you need a bar, The Tin Box will fit right in. Please PM me if you'd like to discuss hiring our lovely Vintage bar fir yoyr wedding or event x

So we now won't be out and about with The Tin Box until the end of July at the earliest...☹ . The axle renewal is going to take about five weeks as we have to wait for the part, so by the time it's also had a respray and been fitted out summer will be well underway. We're going to miss the Vintage Vehicle Fair and Beer Festival at MyLife, which is really sad, was looking forward to that. On a positive note received some fantastic cheeses to try yesterday, including one of AleX James's, will definitely include them in our cheeseboards. πŸ§€πŸ·

08/05/2017

Well, the bad news from Friday is that the renewal of the brakes and lights has escalated into a complete renewal of both axles....not a cheap job! But once its done we'll have an almost totally new 'vintage' trailer, and we know it'll be safe and roadworthy, at least that's what I keep telling myself when mild panic threatens to take overπŸ˜†

All the things we need 31/03/2017

The tables and chairs have arrived...yippee! Things are moving along...

Our new adventure begins....

The Tin Box Bar So the story begins! Our newly acquired rusting horse trailer is to be converted into a mobile cheese & wine bar Watch this space to see the transformation

First things first - rip it apart 20/03/2017

Our horsebox arrived, kindly delivered by the people we bought from, and we needed to get started straight away. It's an old thing but not in bad nick, however, the floor was rotten and had to be ripped up, the partition needed to come out, and that's just for starters. The chassis is rusty, so Neil gamely had a go, several goes actually, at trying to get the rust off, but he was fighting a losing battle...Plan B - get a sandblaster in. So later this week hopefully, we are going to try and tow the beast - neither us ever having towed anything before - along to the sandblasters. Then the electrics and brakes need sorting and a complete re spray. Watch this space...
