Unfortunately, we have made the decision to postpone tomorrow’s junior academy and adult taster sessions due to the heavy snowfall and tonight’s forecast.

All going well this will be the last winter blast and we can kick start things again next weekend.

We are now recruiting new and existing junior golfers aged 5-15.

The winter is without doubt the best time to work on your game, especially when you have access to one of the most advanced indoor facilities in the UK here at Mold Golf Club.

In addition to our indoor TrackMan studio and putting green, we also boast a 4 bay sheltered range, perfect for private sessions and small groups, whilst also benefitting from a well drained uplands course and outdoor practice areas that our academy utilise 12 months a year.

We are introducing our first ever off-season back2golf and new2golf adult group sessions commencing this coming Saturday 8th October here

These mixed sessions will provide the perfect opportunity to develop your skills and ensure you are ready to hit the course in the spring.

Rainy Saturdays will be on our new, sheltered long game area and dry Saturdays will be on our short game area or putting green.

The forecast is looking great for Saturday so will be on the main putting green directly behind the proshop.

Places are limited and reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis each week. The total cost is £10.00pp.

Day time sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays will also be introduced very soon.

Introducing Robin Hughes, one of two new PGA coaches to join the Tudor Golf Academy here ⛳️

‘I've been golfing since the age of 3 and enjoyed a successful junior and university career playing internationally. After graduating I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a PGA Professional which became a reality in 2015. I took coaching positions in Miami, Barcelona, and notably Nike Golf Academy in Philadelphia to learn more about the game.’

‘After returning to Wales in 2017, I won Wales PGA Professional of the year after launching a coaching programme focusing on developing golf throughout the region. The continued growth and success also helped North Wales Golf Club win Wales Golf Club of the Year.’

‘Swish was launched in 2020 specialising in golf and fitness. This was to highlight my passion in developing golfers to their full potential combining both modern and traditional coaching methods.’

‘Joining Craig Tudor’s new PGA team at Mold GC is an exciting opportunity and I look forward to meeting everyone at the Club.’

I’m delighted to announce, after weeks of meetings and planning, we will soon welcome former Welsh PGA Professional of the Year, Robin Hughes, and PGA Professional Matt Pugin to the Tudor Golf Academy here

With the upcoming departure of our PGA Assistant Steve, Swish Golf Founder Robin and Matt have agreed to join our professional team as we continue increasing golf participation in the North West and helping grow Mold Golf Club membership numbers. Both coaches will assist me in delivering individual and group coaching sessions to our members, junior academy, new2golf, back2golf and visitors.

Robin and Matt introduced over 10,000 participants to golf in North Wales last year using an array of unique and fun coaching methods. Both have a passion for golf coaching and will assist us in delivering our junior programme.

In addition, with the imminent opening of our sheltered practice ground, our recently opened Curtis Cup Academy short course and existing state of the art TrackMan studio, we are extremely excited for the next chapter.

Mold Golf Club recently secured grant funding from the Curtis Cup Legacy Fund, set up by the R&A and the Welsh Government, to create a shorter and more inclusive form of the game that will appeal to juniors, beginners and encourage more women and girls to play golf.

I was delighted to be approached to design the new course in liaison with our Head Greenkeeper, Colin, and with the support of our Club Manager, Debbie.

Using the existing greens, we have built new teeing areas over the first 7 holes to create a Par 30 ‘Academy Short Course’, with each hole measuring between 100 to 250 yards (100, 125, 150, 175, 200, 225 and 250 - not in this order) This new layout will provide the perfect starting place for our young players and new2golf students to develop their game, learn to play the course and more importantly, have fun without the pressure of playing off the main tees.

In addition, even our experienced members will benefit from playing the new layout for practice whilst also enjoying the course from a different perspective. 7 different clubs being required off the tee over the 7 holes, creating a really challenging Par 3 course.

Our amazing greenkeeping team have worked tirelessly on building the short course tees, whilst still maintaining such a high standard on the rest of the course. The new tees subtly blend in with the existing course landscape as to not interfere with our existing layout.

The short course was officially opened last night with Ken Skates MS hitting the first tee shot along with our club captains. 16 of our juniors who are yet to gain handicaps also played in a 7 hole competition, along with a few new2golf adult participants.
