We are getting ready for a facelift….!!!
With more and more automatic car sales, electric and hybrid vehicles on the market and with an increased awareness and understanding of neurodiversity in todays world, we have made the decision to convert fully to all automatic training.
Our instructors specialise in helping learners who are on (or suspect they are on) any level of the spectrum. We keep our skills and knowledge constantly up to date with the joys and challenges of being neurospicy and love to bring out the best in you.
We hope that our change in business model will encourage more learners to be confident enough to get behind the wheel and create new beginnings, adventures and independence.
We offer automatic lessons in the Caerphilly and Bridgend boroughs (and surrounding areas).
Our spaces do fill up super fast, so make sure you advance book your space in plenty of time 😊

I am so proud of this cheeky monster… Blue only went and passed her automatic driving test after struggling so badly for years. Our Story
Launched in 2010, XLR8 Wales Driving School was developed with the idea of becoming one of the leading schools for customer service, teaching style, approach and safety in South Wales.
Over the years, the school has grown and has attached to it some amazing instructors from around the local area with the same attitude as it’s owners Ali and Rob Brooks. We strive to ensure that every learner receives the best customer service possible and the highest quality of training as possible. Whilst it is not feasible to please everyone all of the time, we have found that we develop strong relationships with our learners and are able to connect with each person individually, focussing on their strengths and working on their weaknesses helping to improve confidence. We hope that our reviews speak for themselves.
We offer a range of driving lesson packages both in automatic and manual vehicles from 1-2 driving lessons per week to intensive and semi intensive driving courses, alongside motorway driver training, refresher driving courses, post driving accident support and specific training for disqualified drivers.
Our customers range from people with no driving experience to full license holders and everything in-between. We endeavour to get you to where you want to be in the quickest and safest time possible.
We pride ourselves on honesty, integrity and professionalism, with a forward thinking approach to driving lessons in Wales. We use some of the latest teaching techniques and materials to help you pass your test. We are up to date with all appropriate rules and regulations to ensure that when you learn, you yourself are as up to date as possible.
Our pass rates are particularly high with each instructor. For example, our intensive courses with Ali are at 100% 1st time pass rate which is quite unusual. Our average pass rate as a combined school 1st time averages at 92%. Those that don’t pass often are completed at the 2nd attempt but everyone that we take though to test will pass one way or another - we make sure of it!
