Beautiful! Prints from today's workshop...
Lino-reduction printmaking in one day. I had the privilege of working with five very talented people at a lino workshop today; and didn't they all do well? I was also honoured to be given an 'Alley Cat' print. Everyone worked so hard, and I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thank you everyone!

A snippet of a new print... Almost finished... One of a series of three lino-reduction prints celebrating the colours in autumn leaves...

Magic happens while you're making plans. Sometimes I take a print on scrap paper to remove excess ink before cleaning my lino; and sometimes I register the resulting 'offprints' to see what happens...

A gradient layer to give depth to my 'hedgerow' print. I'm enjoying this one. I get to mix lots of greens, which I think, is my favourite colour... as well as purple... 💚💜🎨

Getting to know leaf structures... I draw with my lino cutters, colour by colour, layer by layer... I love getting to know my subject as I look closely and learn, on a fascinating journey of discovery...

The umami of colour... ❤️ Work in progress...

Beautiful prints by a very talented group at our lino-reduction print workshop yesterday. Well done, everyone. A challenging and rewarding day.

All ready for a lino-reduction print workshop! Feeling excited to see what everyone creates today!

Looking and learning about autumnal leaves as I add colour layer by layer... Did you know that autumn leaves are so colourful because trees release all the toxins that have built up during the year through them, which is what causes the leaves to fall, before a rejuvenated tree begins a new cycle of life? Not an end, but the celebration of a new beginning...

Full drying racks and a busy afternoon in the studio...

On reflection? A good afternoon in the studio... How was your day?

'Boxed in'... Ever felt like this? A sketch done on my 'Remarkable2' digital notebook; a brilliant xmas pressie from my Mum VW Selburn ... A tool also used by the late Lance Fennell. Miss you Lance. You continue to inspire.

The last place has gone. Both the March and April 2024 workshops are fully booked; but do contact me to be added to the reserve lists.

A new day in a new year, new prints and a full rack! Onwards...

Using brown paper to take the last ink off my lino at the end of each layer... I decided to register it and this is the result... The main edition (on white paper) is now finished. It will be ready for sale at the Winter Art Market on 18 & 19 November, 11am to 4pm.

29/10/2023

I'm opening my studio on 18 & 19 November. Come and meet artists and makers at this lovely event; a chance to buy unique handcrafted gifts in a beautiful setting.

Struggling for a title for this one... A few more layers to go... It's based on an old bath with ornate taps near our allotment... We love to grow our own veg'. Thinking about how precious water is and also how these rather lovely taps are very ornamental, but not plumbed in... Lots to think about... Any ideas?

Playing around with leaves again... Negative and positive space...

Wonderful work by students on a 'Lino-reduction weekend workshop' with Cogbeetle_art this weekend. Aren't these prints amazing?! I really enjoyed working with everyone who came to my workshop this weekend. It was great to see so many creative ideas come to life. So much talent! Well done all!

Close as I ever get to letting my hair down creatively... Jelly plate 'litho' with Akua ink on Hosho. Spent the afternoon playing with leaves... Reduction lino can get a bit 'intense' 😄... It's good to experiment... I filled a few pages in my concertina sketchbook too!
