Not so easy to look the part in period attire..

“You do have to go through doors sideways.” 😂

Crotchless bloomers, wind-inducing corsets and ultra high-waisted trousers. This is what it’s REALLY like to wear period costumes.

Award-winning Ulster Operatic Company, Northern Ireland’s oldest established amateur musical society, is getting ready to take to the stage with their production of Monty Python’s Spamalot at Belfast’s Grand Opera House, 10 – 14 October. Lovingly ripped off from the hugely successful 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail and written by Python Legend Eric Idle, Spamalot is a riotous comedy full of misfit knights, killer rabbits, beautiful showgirls and ferocious Frenchmen. Featuring songs such as ‘Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life’ and ‘Knights Of The Round Table’, join King Arthur as he travels around the land gathering his Knights of the Round Table on his quest for the Holy Grail. Well, what an incredible week! Packed out shows and rave reviews mean that although the cast and crew are feeling 'happy and sad' now that it's all over, there is a tremendous sense of pride with what we created. We would like to take this opportunity to thank absolutely everyone who helped in making this production a reality. From our incredibly talented directors and musical director, stage crew, set design, costumes, makeup, front of house, the ladies making sandwiches and teas, parking attendants, and everyone else involved, you are all a major asset to the society.
Thank you to our loyal sponsors and audiences and lastly, thank you to the entire cast - 'It's family first, and family last, and family by and by!'
