Today, a young man, Thomas Newton, is being laid to rest, taken too soon doing the sport he loved.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends on this sad day.

Preparations are done for the ACU British Pre 75 Grasstrack Championship and a great array of Support Classes on Sunday 14th July 2024.

There are 3 British Champion Titles available for the Pre 75 Racers.

At our Gawsworth Venue, which we have secured for all our Race Meetings this Season.

The Grass has been mowed.

Track has been marked out giving a size of around 350 metres.

The Team have been putting the hours in since Tuesday evening to get a perfect Track for racing and spectating. Come and support the Club and the Riders.

Camping is available over the weekend. From Friday pm to Monday midday. We are trying to locate the Fresh Water supply but maybe best to bring some with you if Camping.

Toilets should be available on the field on Friday 12th.

Disabled Parking.

On the day there will be Hot & Cold Food available.
We will have an Ice Cream Van in attendance.
Plus, a Licensed Bar supplied by Ntertain Bars.

Spares Van provided by Geoff Collins, COV COMP.

We have an Entry of 85 Riders / Passengers resulting in 66 Races.

MARSHALLS WANTED - If on the day you are willing to help Marshalling, please let us know before hand or make yourself known at the Race Control Caravan on the day prior to Practice commencing.

Track build starts on Tuesday evening 6pm and will continue on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Anyone wishing to help get in touch, there is plenty to do.

The decision has been taken to extend the time to enter this event by 7 days, in the hope that those Riders who have requested Entry Forms / Supplementary Regs, get them back to us as soon as possible.
Closing Date for Entries now Friday 21st June 2024.

Come on you Pre 75 Riders, your ACU British Championship is still looking light on Entries, especially the Pre 75 350cc Solos.

Apart from saying the Meeting was a great success with some fantastic racing. The weather Gods were on our side with a Rain free day apart from a 5 minute Downpour for the penultimate race the GT 140 Final.

The Steve Deeran Spectacular which was to be run over 2 days, will sadly be run as a single day Event on Sunday 26th May 2024. This is due to a lack of sufficient Entries in many Classes for the Saturday 25th May 2024, meaning an unviable Race Programme.
Classes from Saturday will be now run on the Sunday along with those which were already scheduled. However, the 500cc Sidecars and Old & New Sidecars will be removed from the schedule.

The Steve Deeran Spectacular II
Saturday 25th May & Sunday 26th May 2024.

Reviewed the Entries so far at the Cheshire Grasstrack Committee Meeting last night. Entries have been very slow and on the current showing we cannot justify some of the Classes. We have spaces available in ALL Classes, some Classes have NO Entries to date.

We included Youth Classes on the Saturday, 25th May following lots on Social Media talk, that there weren't enough Race Meetings for Youth.
The Youth Entry to date has been poor:-
E Bike - 1
Auto - 1
Cadet - 0
Juniors - 5
Inters - 2
Other Classes on the Saturday, 25th May :-
125 FGA Adult - 4
GT140 - 11
500 Sidecars - 2
Old & New Sidecars - 0
Quads - 4

Entries for the Sunday 26th May aren't much better:-
250 Solo - 3
350 Solo - 3
500 Solo - 6
Pre 75 - 3
Uprights - 7
MX Unlimited Adult - 1
1000 R/H Sidecars - 6
Quads - 4

Adult MX Unlimited is another Class that we have been asked to add to our Race Card but again a dismal response.

RIDERS - PLEASE GET YOUR ENTRIES IN ASAP, WE CANNOT RUN A GRASSTRACK WITHOUT YOU.

DEPENDING ON THE ENTRIES OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. A DECISION WILL BE MADE AS TO WHETHER TO HOLD JUST A ONE DAY EVENT ON THE SUNDAY.
