“Each one teach one” the Science of Adding and Gaining in Value

There’s one quick and simple way to learn and it is from each other. In fact, we learn a lot from people’s mistakes but in this case, it’s about learning from people’s expertise.

Climbing up the ladder requires learning new skills, time, effective communication but most importantly attention. Indeed, it is important to observe and discuss with our peers who have the skills that we want to gain.

Communicating clearly and effectively one’s needs can only make way for bespoke support and knowledge.

It is crucial that you are aware of your strengths as well as your weaknesses and make sure you set yourself clear and SMART targets in order to improve your competence.

Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone ...

Another way to step out of your comfort zone is to take on new responsibilities.

Indeed, pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is a great way to develop personally and professionally.
Therefore, the new responsibilities you will take on will help you, gain new skills, increase your knowledge and grow in confidence.

It will be challenging at times and that’s the point. What is challenging promotes growth and makes you stronger.

We strengthen our resilience/mental muscle every time we choose to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Why having a support network/team crucial to our development?

Developing oneself is to consciously improve in various aspects/areas of one's life.

Every period of change and challenge requires a plan/structure, gaining new skills and knowledge but most importantly having Emotional Support.

I believe that we can all agree that school can be a very stressful environment at times for both students and teachers. To maintain/improve your morale as well as staying motivated, it is important that you have a support team that will provide you inspiration and guidance as needed.

Your EST (Emotional Support Team) can be composed of friends, family, colleagues, a professional group or a mentor/coach.

GOING THE EXTRA MILE🏆

One of the many things I’ve learnt throughout my teaching career is that if I wanted to get more and/or go further, I would have to do more in a smart way.

Therefore, I decided to apply one of Napoleon Hill’s principles which consists of going the extra mile. I quickly understood that developing myself was the best way to add value to myself and also to the Young Souls I was given the opportunity to teach and guide.

Since then, I've been constantly and consciously stepping outside of my comfort zone in the pursuit of the greater teacher/coach that lies within.
I know that going the extra mile does not only benefit us educators but also the generation(s) in our care.

Find out how you can do more, boost your morale and achieve your objectives in my free e-book.

Authenticity in the Classroom🔑

Throughout my years of teaching, I’ve learnt that to make an impact in the classroom one has to be authentic in their approach.

Our passion for the profession and the subject as well as our strong subject knowledge have to transpire when teaching our students.

It is very important to keep our students constantly at the centre of everything we do.

Authenticity is key to provide a great learning experience but also to become an authority in our field.

MOMENTUM

Engaging students in the lesson is very important but helping them to be in here's here and now / the present moment will help them access the learning and have an exceptional learning experience.

What do you think?

How do you know that your students are Self-aware?

Being Self-aware is very important for everyone's development.

As educators, we have to be aware of our strengths and weaknesses but also we have to help/guide our learners to discover who they are and how this knowledge of self can help them become successful in every area of their life.

Self-awareness is key🔑

Why tracking your performance when climbing the ladder in teaching is important?

Having worked within the education sector for the past 15 years, I have found that individuals wanting
to climb the career ladder often do not measure their performance and benchmark.

This is an important activity as it allows one to understand where they are and what they need to adopt to get to their destination.

Find out more about this and other tips in my free e-book.
