It’s with a heavy heart I write this post, I’m sad to say shaw heath have played there last game this season.

I’ve had 9 fantastic years playing, managing and everything in between for this club and I’ve enjoyed every minute.

Thank you to everyone that’s supported me and to every player that’s pulled on a shaw shirt I’ve met some fantastic people and seen some fantastic friendships blossom lots of memories that will stay with me for many years, but I’d be lying if I said I’m not looking forward to a break for myself personally

Special mention for the crucible sports bar, Hinds Head, and every member of the Stockport District Sunday Football League, thank you very much ❤️

35 mins in 3-2 up an excellent game of cup football was played for the neutral, we was reduced to 10 men for our player getting a 2nd yellow for kicking the ball away, 65 mins with and a man down wasn’t easy but we managed to Hold them out and still push up and make chances, a free kick hit the wall bounced back to the taker who lofted it into the top corner for 3-3 and followed another penalty shoot out loss 😫

Well done to Orion and good luck to them in the next round, playing with the same mentality as today they will be a challenge for many teams.

First of all, What a fantastic game of football the lads gave everything today and was excellent from front to back after yet again going down to an early goal we then made 10+ chances to score and did every but danny hit the post hit the bar before finally opening his account for the season making it 1-1 and taking us to a penalty shoot out, always a lotto we never seem to have the winning ticket for 4 shoot out losses in a row it will be a messy day in the Hinds Head when we come away with a win after a shoot out.

So many positives to take away from today keep your heads up and see you Wednesday for a big session earn that place in the next 16

Disappointing result the lads had plenty of chances to score more but the chances past us by, same again next week Vs Cheadle in the cup, plenty of opportunities for the lads that have been working hard in training, a chance for me to mix the team up and for them lads to show me what they can offer

Man of the match - Niall Whyte 3 superb goals and never let the vics defenders settle

Special mention to kyron playing his first open age league game in the prem division and making some excellent saves, and also for Kenzi the young lad has been committed all summer he was waiting for his chance on the side line he came on for his first league game at open age and played a wonderful ball to send niall away for his second of the game, a few more young lads will make there debuts in the next couple games.

Tough game to lose when we really should be walking away with a point, sloppy goals to concede a lack of concentration and at this level you get punished.
Overall really proud of the effort from every single one of the lads, a few lads making there debuts today will only get better with time but didn’t look out of place.

It was great to see the old players get off to winning starts in there new teams yesterday we wish them all the luck this season, aslong as we don’t come face to face in the cups 👊🏻💪🏻

After a Sunday off we are now focused on our opening day, our first game in the premier division Vs stretford vics, there will be no easy games in the division and we will need to have 💯 commitment and to work hard for each other, get down and support the lads at the home pitch

A big session on Wednesday to earn that spot in the squad

A handful of new players joined this week as we try and strengthen the squad going into our first season in the top division, it won’t be easy but the lads are well up for the challenge and are looking forward to playing some new teams ⚽️

We will continue to recruit players that want to play at the best level in the SDSFL, message the page if interested we continually work hard to improve the squad 💪🏻

No game for the lads this weekend so we will be on the road having a look at the other teams in the division on the first weekend of the season, we kick off next week at home

A tough game this morning agaist a well established top division team, a handful of debuts dropped right in at the deep end but as the game progressed on they adapted well.

We started cold but after a few changes mid way through the first half we settled and started to play the ball around well, reddish went 2-0 before we started probing some excellent saves from there #1 kept the score at 2-1 after ryan timed his run and volleyed one over the keeper from the edge of the box he then came inches away from making it 2-2 with another great effort, a deflected goal got reddish the 2 goal cushion again before good work from James allowed Niall to walk the ball into an empty net, reddish then stepped up the gears in the final 15 and equally we suffered with fitness and conceded a few we could of done better with, but after losing so many players recently and rebuilding in such a short amount of time I’m impressed with how the the lads played today for long periods of the game.

Only our 2nd game this pre season due to the fact we’ve struggled for players but a few new heads in the door and a couple returning from injuries let’s see what we can do, we’ve worked hard all summer so now we need to get out there and enjoy some football

Man of the match 🏆 kyron collier - first game at open age for the young lad and he was absolutely superb, big future for that lad in the sticks

We started the game well at a good tempo the new players looked settled in right away, four debuts today 3 of them under 18 and each one of them did us proud playing agaist a good prem team in torky, after going behind 1-0 we turn the game around a double from Keiran either side of half time gave us a 2-1 lead plenty of changes and good run out for all the squad, we can take plenty of positives from this game and keep focused on working hard at training.
