It's our favourite time of the year again!!!! No, not Easter š£ it's Tax Year End, also known as SCAM SEASON!
Below is an email proporting to be from HMRC, goody, they owe me money! š„³
The link takes me to an amazing dupe of HMRC where I can tap in my Government Gateway & password. This will undoubtedly take you to a second factor authentication process...... Now they've grabbed all you personal & tax information, everything they need for identity theft!
Keep your wits about you folks. as I've said before HMRC will never contact you by email! The most you'll get is an email saying there's a message in your portal. There will not be a link in the email to click to the gateway, you'll always have your search for it. HMRC will send you brown envelope letters if they want to tell you something. Take care, be aware!

HMRC WILL NOT PHONE YOU & ASK FOR CARD PAYMENTS
HMRC WILL NOT CALL YOU & ASK FOR YOUR UTR
HMRC WILL NOT EMAIL YOU PAYMENT LINKS
If in doubt please ask the caller to write to you.
You can report any suspicious activity to HMRC . You
can forward suspicious texts claiming to be from HMRC to 60599 and emails to [email protected]

And then what.......? Another empty building
Plans aim to return Wisbech listed building to pre-Barclays occupation Signage,cash machines and night safes are to be removed in order to "decommission" a defunct Wisbech bank.

And so the scams keep coming! Iāve had 3 reports since yesterday of a scam call from the National Crime Agency threatening to suspend the persons NI number and arrest them if they donāt press one.

They may message your government gateway and they will write to you, particularly if you owe money. You may receive an email to say you have messages on your gateway account. These emails will contain a link

IF YOU GET ANY OTHER LINK DO NOT CLICK IT.
In all instances the best advice is to search for HMRC in your browser and login that way avoiding any links all together.
