We recently headed over to James Watt Dock Marina to give Luna, a Southerly 35RS some love.
She received a full compound polish, which restores and protects her stunning gel coat colour. We also gave her Yanmar power plant a full annual service.

We were back over on the west coast working for our friends (and first customers!) Venture West for the third year running.
Boats Venture West, Panther and Jovia all received a full compound polish, renewing and protecting their gel coat for the season to come.
Panther and Jovia also received inflatable tube UV treatment to ensure their tubes don’t stain in the Scottish sunshine (when it’s oot!)

Some pre-season prep work for this beautiful Ribeye Boats A811 earlier this week.
The Yamaha 300hp outboard received a full annual service under warranty, along with a hull polish, coppercoat reactivation and a general once over.
This boat lives on the water during the summer, not that you’d know because it is immaculate - and a shoes off affair!

A pre season prep and antifoul for Yacht Boracay - a Hunter Horizon 30 berthed at our home port of North Berwick.
The bilge keels were needing some TLC so we stripped the paint off, sanded the remainder of the hull and epoxy primed the keels.
The entire bottom was then re-coated with ‘antifoul’ paint which stops barnacles and seaweed from growing over the season.

We were delighted to be asked to service Wetwheels Edinburgh this week.
Wetwheels Foundation is a charity who offer barrier free boating to those who normally couldn’t! The 10m Cheetah catamaran has a wide access door with ramp and a wheelchair accessible helm station, so literally anyone can have a shot at the wheel!
The boat has twin Suzuki 325hp outboards with counter rotating propellers for fantastic performance. We’ve given them a full annual service to keep this boat running with a full bill of health!
We think the charity is a great addition to Port Edgar Marina and we’ve seen first hand how it can change peoples lives! So we were delighted to provide the labour for the service free of charge.

We’ve had Challenger - a 25ft Hardy at the workshop for a chunk of work in the last few weeks.
She’s received a full annual service on her twin Mercury 90hp outboards, new hydraulic steering, new LED nav light package, floodlights and deck lights fitted, solar panel and a good old wiring tidy. She’s sorted and ready for the season ahead!

We had the pleasure of performing annual services on East Lothian Yacht Club’s rescue fleet this week.
ELYC is a super active and busy club, with three Valiant DR490 ribs and one Searider all with new Honda 50 horsepower outboards.
We serviced and tested all four of the engines, making sure they are tip top for the season ahead!

This week we finished off an engine installation on a Maxi 84 sailing yacht.
The original engine had seized and the customer decided to go with a refurbished replacement Volvo Penta which we took the pleasure of installing for them.
New engine mountings were fabricated and the new engine was lifted in and installed.
To finish off we assisted with the yacht getting craned in and a sea trial to make sure everything was top notch!

We had some west coast action yesterday - across to Inverkip Marina to assist with a seatrial on a beautiful Targa 35.
Gearbox and engine oil samples were taken, and a thorough check of all the mechanical components of this truly bucket list worthy boat!
Then to top it off, we headed out and put her through her paces on the Clyde.

We had a super busy end to 2023 and after a restful break, one of the first jobs was to service some Tohatsu Marine outboards for Foxlake Adventures and Wildshore.
These engines are a critical part of the safety boats the watersport centres use, and are maintained to the highest standards with a full annual service and test run!

In amongst other things last week, Hamish has managed to squeeze in upgrading his commercial skipper qualifications to RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Commercial.
A big thanks to our friends at Edinburgh Marine Academy for a top notch course with the best of kit!
Yachtmaster Offshore allows you to skipper a vessel 24m in length up to 150 nautical miles offshore.

Last week we replaced a Volvo Penta sail drive diaphragm on a lovely Bavaria 31.
Sail drive diaphragms are a super critical part of a yacht as they seal the biggest hole in the boat! It is recommended that they are replaced every 7 years.
It is also a good opportunity to strip down the sail drive, clean up any sea life hoping to hitchhike, and make sure everything is top notch!

We ended last week with some scheduled maintenance on Forth Adventurer for our friends at Edinburgh Marine Academy.
A 200 hour service was carried out on each of the vessels Volvo Penta inboards whilst she was out of the water.
We also assisted with getting her back into the water and a wee sea trial to check everything was ok and to end the day!

Some TLC last week for this fantastic wee Boston Whaler. A colour matched gel coat repair leaving her like new, and a full annual service with winterisation for her Suzuki DF60. Giving her full preparation for the winter and straight into the start of next season. All done fully mobile in the customers shed!

A different job kicked off last week, onto the ferry from Oban out to the Isle of Coll to investigate an overheating issue on a Nordstar 28. The Volvo Penta D6-330 was checked over and sorted, and we accompanied the owner back to the mainland for peace of mind! A fantastic way to start the week and a properly lovely boat.
