Why we are members of the British Health Trade Association?

We as a business, in the mobility healthcare sector, are privileged to work with, and help, some of nicest of people, people who are often sadly suffering from life changing ailments.
They need and deserve the best support we as a nation can provide.
However they and their family often find themselves talking to unqualified inexperienced individuals who struggle to specify the correct product or the correct size.
The knock on effect of this can be significant, and in its worst case exacerbate existing ailments.

In order to avoid these issues we as a company endeavour to be as up to date as possible, well trained and professional.
We also find we are often supporting the work of healthcare professionals.
To assist us achieve this we have been members of the British Healthcare Trades Association ( see https://www.bhta.com/ ) for nearly 40 years.
This organisation provides us with an appropriate code of practice (see Code of Practice ). We also know if we have an issue they are on hand to assist and advise.
We have embraced the BHTA training recommendation of Trusted Assessor for our customer facing team.
This training is designed to support the work of occupational therapist and other healthcare professionals.

In this way we hope to be able to provide the best possible support for those that need mobilty healthcare equipment.

Today we attended the Warm Hub at "The Scouts Hut" Shipston on Stour. It was nice to see Rowena and the team who organise this event, Linda from VASA and the Local Community Police Officer. It's a great opportunity for the local community to meet up every week.

We are now beginning to get a feel for what the new Labour Government means for people with Disabilities.

There may not be a Disability Minister but there are a number of promises in their manifesto, (see https://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/news/labour-launches-its-manifesto-promises-disability-and-accessibility for a more detailed article).

It is likely it will take a while for a coherent opposition to materialise and wrestle back power so these policies will likely set a trend for quite some years to come.

If you do feel strongly then one good route to follow is to contact your local MP and lobby them for change that could help you!

Today, we hosted an event "Independent Living In Style" at Austin Heath, The Grange, It was a wonderful morning where residents had the opportunity to ask us questions and to test out our equipment.

Today, our Director Ian Wenman and the team attended the "MD Support Centre Open Day." Wenman Healthcare works in partnership providing their service users with expert mobility equipment, advice and support. It was a highly eventful day, filled with conversations with the MD Support Centre team, engaging with occupational therapists and other professionals within the care sector, listening to inspirational speakers and engaging with other exhibitors. It was a fantastic day enjoyed by everyone!

Today, our director Ian Wenman and the team had the pleasure of attending the "Summer Fair" at Audley Binswood. It was a perfect day with the sun shining as we chatted with residents, their families, and the staff.

Today we were invited to the "Carers Information Event" organised by Carers for Carers. What a lovely morning chatting with the community, other organisations & eating cake & coffee.

Today we visited Frank at Bentley House Care Centre to deliver his new powerchair. Frank was very happy.

Today we had the pleasure of dropping off 5 new wheelchairs for Warwick Castle! It’s always a delight to visit such a beautiful place.

Hayley and Monique had a wonderful time visiting Cubbington Mill Care Home. They were warmly welcomed by Laura and enjoyed chatting with the residents.
