What's your favourite?

That's today's topic. So I thought I'd ask what your favourite ethical, kids brand is? Whether it's clothing, toys, or gifts, who's top of your list?

Here's three that I think are fabulous just in case you're in need of a bit of inspo:

Acorn & Pip - Beautiful, sustainable toys, interiors and gifts for little ones. And their gorgeous shop is just around the corner from The Story Tailor studio.

Little Green Radicals - Fairtrade Organic baby clothes. I work with this brand in my other day job, and they're an amazing team.

Jody & Lara - swimwear made from recycled plastic bottles. What's not to love.

Who else should I add to the list? Recommendations please.

Did you know that all the thread I use for my embroidered canvases is recycled?

There are unravelled jumpers, leftover wool from other people's knitting projects, and a huge mountain of tapestry thread that was heading for the tip.

I love giving old fabric and thread a new life. It means that I can't always pick the exact colours I would have chosen if I were buying new. But it also means my artwork is unique - you'll never find someone with exactly the same piece as you. 😍

Here's one from the archive for day 16 of .

This is the first baby clothes quilt I made for someone outside of my family/friends network. A big day. It was evidence that someone liked my work enough to let me transform their child's precious outgrown clothes into an heirloom keepsake. 😋 They loved it, which I really needed to hear. A huge confidence boost and encouragement to keep going!

Back to chilly days again today.

Luckily, one of the perks of my job is the number of blankets and quilts we have around the house. There's about a dozen lovely patchwork throws ready to snuggle up with through the winter.
Are there any perks that come with your job?

It's day 10 of the (yes, I am late to the party as always!). Today's prompt is 'small details'.

This small detail is my favourite bit of making a baby clothes keepsake animal - a little bit of hand stitching right at the end.
It's the finishing touches that make all the difference - giving the piece some character and providing me with a bit of mindfulness in my day :)
