With our game off today, attention turns to our last man standing competition heading into it’s 3rd week with 67 players on yellow cards.

Some heavy picks this week with 40% of all players picking Liverpool and 32% picking Brentford. Any upsets in those games could see plenty more red cards being handed out this weekend.

8 players have went for bottom of the league Burnley who are winless in 6 league games and have only picked up one win all season!

Today’s game against Broughty Athletic at Davie Park has been postponed due to a frozen pitch with overnight temperatures of -7 recorded in Blairgowrie.

Next up for Blair is a visit to face Forfar United on Saturday 9th December.

We are delighted to announce the signing of experienced forward Paul Constable on loan from East Craigie.

Paul joined up with the squad tonight and will go straight into contention for selection for Saturday’s home game against Broughty Athletic.

We are delighted to announce the signing of Marc Ogg from Kirrie Thistle. Marc has put pen to paper on a deal until the end of next season. Marc is an experienced player at this level and alongside his versatility will make him an excellent addition to the squad.

Manager Mark Caldwell had the following to say upon completion of the deal “When we heard Marc was available, we were extremely interested and a lot of hard work went in to get the chance to speak to Marc, we had to fight off multiple clubs. He made it clear that he wanted to join the club and that is exactly the sort of player and mindset we want to bring in. He will be a great addition to the group and will help us push on as a club. We’d like to thank Kirrie Thistle for their support in getting this deal done.”

Last Man Standing Week 2 Update

Another week with plenty cards shown as the 2nd most picked team Crystal Palace lost out at Luton, whilst a late West Ham double saved lots of entrants from exiting the competition.

There were 29 new yellow cards this week whilst 18 entrants were shown a red card after only 2 weeks 😲 and there are now 67 entrants on a yellow card after just two weeks!

A performance with plenty of positives but Blairgowrie exit the cup at the hands of a very good Lochee Utd side. Despite hitting the woodwork twice and forcing the home keeper into a few top saves it was the home sides quality in the final third that shone through.

We are delighted to announce the signing of Kaisey Brown who has returned to the club again having left at the end of last season to join Montrose FC.

Manager Mark Caldwell had the following to say “We were absolutely delighted to hear Kaisey was interested in returning, and absolutely delighted he has rejoined, he’s a fantastic talent and it shows the ambition the club has and the positive direction we’re going in.”

Kaisey also said the following having rejoined the club “I’d spoke to a few of the boys I know here and they were very positive about the direction the club was going, they all raved about the group of lads and standard of training and I’m just looking forward to getting back involved and enjoying my football again.”

Today’s game was abandoned following an injury to our player Jay Jay Hutchison.

We’d like to wish him a speedy recovery and we hope to see him back amongst the lads soon.
