June sees the return of the annual celebration of all things community arts. It is the Festival's second year and events are taking place across the entire month - simply to accommodate everything and everyone who has expressed an interest in taking part!

Visitors are expected to travel from across the area to the festival and it would be great if our businesses could support the festival by helping to promote it to residents and visitors alike.

There will be workshops with local Artists, talks and demonstrations, theatre, dance, concerts by community groups, established and emerging performers, competitions for all ages, a family fun day and more. Some events will be held around the Dales with the majority taking place at St. Matthew’s Church, Leyburn Methodist Church Hall, Leyburn Arts and Community Centre, Leyburn Library and in the grounds of Thornborough Hall.

Come along to the Annual Parish Meeting to meet your Councillors, find out what local organisations have been doing and their plans for the future.

The meeting is also an opportunity for electors to have a say on anything they consider valuable to the people of Leyburn.

A684, WENSLEY – CARRIAGEWAY RETEXTURING WORKS

Dear Resident/ Proprietor,

This letter is to inform you that North Yorkshire Council, will be undertaking carriageway retexturing works at the above location.

The works are currently programmed to commence on Wednesday 20 March 2024 and will be carried out under a full road closure between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 for a period of one day. A plan showing the extent of the works is enclosed for your information.

Advance warning signage advising of the works will be installed on site. Whilst the works are in progress, a fully signed diversion will be in place. On-site personnel will assist in managing access to properties and businesses within the closure. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Please note, this work is part of an extensive programme and therefore, some adjustment to this start date or the duration of the works may be necessary should unforeseen circumstances such as significant weather events or emergencies on the highway network arise.

To ensure the delivery of these works we request your assistance in the following ways:

• Please contact the Customer Service Centre on 0300 131 2 131, to identify any special access needs you may have prior to work commencing.

• Please make arrangements to store your vehicle at an alternative location.

• Please co-operate and comply with any instructions issued by the traffic management operatives and take extra care whilst within the works area.
