An incredibly insightful day at Naidex so far. From groundbreaking innovations to the latest research. But the most impactful moment? A heartfelt conversation with Roman Kemp in front of a captivated audience, delving into the depths of mental health. Roman's openness and journey resonated. Thank you, Roman, for sharing your story.

Excited to be attending the Naidex Exhibition and Neuro Convention at Birmingham NEC tomorrow. As a passionate Neuro Physiotherapist at Dorset Neuro Rehab I can't wait to learn, network and explore the latest innovations in the field.

Looking forward to connecting with fellow professionals, discovering new insights and seeing how we can enhance our service to better serve our clients.

Hopefully will exchange a few business cards along the way!

The main stroke symptoms can be remembered with the word FAST:

Face – the face may have dropped on one side, the person may not be able to smile, or their mouth or eye may have drooped.

Arms – the person may not be able to lift both arms and keep them there because of weakness or numbness in one arm.

Speech – their speech may be slurred or garbled, or the person may not be able to talk at all despite appearing to be awake; they may also have problems understanding what you're saying to them.

Time – it's time to dial 999 immediately if you notice any of these signs or symptoms.

𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱-𝟭𝟵 𝗩𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗲!

Today I received my second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Again I am very grateful to everyone who has worked to develop the vaccines and appreciate how fortunate I am to be able to receive it. It gives an added level of protection to both the clients I treat and myself. Having said that, at Dorset Neuro Rehab we will continue to adhere to the guidelines from the government and our governing body to ensure the safety of all our clients when you visit the clinic and when we visit you in your own homes. We cannot afford to become complacent and the safety of our clients, the wider public and ourselves is our number one priority.

Stay safe everyone and keep doing what you can in the fight against Covid-19.

GripAble in 30 seconds!

Here is a short preview of GripAble, a handheld device that can be used to measure grip strength but also help to rehabilitate movements of the hand and wrist.

It’s really difficult to showcase in 30 seconds all that the device can do so if you find the video interesting and would like to know more please do get in touch. You can message us on Facebook, send us a Direct Message on Instagram or simply email us at [email protected].

The device is great for assessment and rehabilitation purposes and the best part is that it is tailored to each individual's needs. A simple calibration means that someone with very little movement can train equally as well as someone with far greater movements. This is based on how sensitive the device becomes to your movements. As you progress you can recalibrate to ensure you are rehabilitating in an optimal range of movement.

The device links with an App on the Samsung Tablet that is included and creates innovative, fun and ultimately challenging games to make your rehabilitation engaging and rewarding. With post treatment analysis you can see how many repetitions you have actually completed and we expect that, like us, you will be surprised at how many times you repeat the movements.

We hope you like the video and please do feel free to share it with friends and family who you think may benefit from some specific upper limb rehabilitation.
