πŸ“© We’ve received some fantastic feedback from Melissa, Director of Innovation and Learning at Trinity Lutheran College in Victoria.

Talking about the Flagship Training Programme, she also praised Sounds-Write for its inclusivity, sharing, "The program's perspective on differentiation is inclusively focused. Unlike other programs that rely on numerous separate worksheets and fixed groups, potentially limiting learner movement, Sounds-Write supports whole class teaching. This aligns well with our school's inclusive approach."

🌟 Thank you Melissa for the feedback, we’re thrilled the course has been so well-received. 🌟

When lockdown hit in 2021, Katie, a Speech and Language Pathologist from Massachusetts, began homeschooling her son Michael, who would’ve been in first grade.

Michael was struggling with his reading and Katie assumed this was a result of remote instruction. She trained in two different phonics programs but despite her best efforts, Michael made little progress through the classes.

It was at this stage that Katie found us and signed up to the Sounds-Write Practitioner Training Course - and hasn’t looked back. Reflecting on training she said β€˜there were so many moments during the training where I said to myself, β€œthis makes so much sense!” ’

As Michael progressed through the Sounds-Write program with Katie’s instruction, he was able to master skills in decoding and reading fluency, getting great results in his MCAS tests.

It makes our hearts sing to learn success stories like this one, and how the Sounds-Write approach is supporting positive outcomes for children on their literacy journey.

Thank you, Katie, for sharing. πŸ’™πŸ‘

Leanne is the very talented illustrator of our new Extended Code Next Steps collection. πŸ“•πŸ“—πŸ“˜

Here's a little bit about Leanne. 🎨

"My name is Leanne and I am a Bristol-based designer and illustrator with my own Etsy shop - Designed by Leanne. Ever since I could hold a pencil, I've been drawing. When I was young, I used to love drawing little characters I'd made up and illustrations for stories. I started designing over 6 years ago as a part-time job at university while I studied Digital Arts, and I have now worked for a wide range of companies across the world. I now spend a lot of time drawing my customer's pets, which is the dream I never knew I had. I love what I do and I always love using beautiful colours and fun imagery to bring a smile to the people who see my work.

"My favourite project I've worked on for Sounds-Write has to be the Extended Code Next Steps Collection. It's the first series I've ever illustrated and I absolutely loved getting the opportunity to create characters and the worlds they live in. The team at Sounds-Write was an absolute pleasure to work with as well and I love that these books will be used to help children learn to read."

How can we achieve the very best outcomes for our students? The Active Implementation Formula is a helpful way of thinking about all the elements that interact with each other to improve student outcomes.

πŸ“š Effective Practices βœ–οΈ Effective Implementation βœ–οΈ Enabling Context = Socially Significant Outcomes πŸŽ“

Just like the Simple View of Reading, every element counts. As the Active Implementation Formula is a multiplication equation, if one of the factors is missing or falls short, the overall outcome is diminished. At Sounds-Write, we're interested in how this formula can enhance literacy outcomes in schools. Stay tuned for more insights coming your way!
