We are THRILLED to announce that we will be setting off across the UK with our besties from across the Channel, the phenomenal Alwaid (FR)! 💜

The lovely folks at Heel Turn Promotions have kindly booked both bands for a special guest headline slot at Corporation Sheffield for Semi-Final 3 of Bloodstock Festival's Metal 2 the Masses competition.

We last saw Alwaid back in 2018! (Can you believe it's been that long?) So we are really looking forward to sharing the stage together again in 2024.

🚨 ANNOUNCEMENT! 🚨

🥁 We have a drummer! 🥁

Please join us in welcoming the phenomenal Nick Robinson to Aonia on drums. Our fantastic Aonia Family may recognise Nick from when he stepped in as a dep drummer for a few of our recent shows, most notably our support slot with Battle Born in Bradford and at Power Metal Quest Fest in Birmingham.

Nick is a talented, hardworking, and dedicated drummer who is well-known in the Sheffield metal scene as the drummer for folk metal band ThunarWülf.

Nick says: 'I first crossed paths with Aonia when we shared the same bill for their headline appearance at a local Metal to the Masses event. After seeing them perform, I was delighted to be asked to dep for their next few shows, and I am now looking forward to becoming a full-time member.'

We are super-excited for Nick to join us on our musical journey, and we look forward to writing Album #2 together.

🥁 Drummer Wanted! 🥁

Sadly, our drummer, Harrison, is leaving Aonia. He attends uni quite far from the rest of the band, and we are all gutted that we couldn’t make it work!

Harrison is a great drummer (and a guitarist too!) and a good friend. We’re grateful for the time he’s spent with Aonia, and we wish him every success in pursuing his music degree and with his Gloucester-based band, Flatliners.

Therefore, we are on the hunt for a new drummer for Aonia!

🎶 Who Aonia Are 🎶

We are an operatic/progressive metal band currently writing our second album. We have numerous festival appearances under our belts, along with tours in the UK and EU.

🔎 Who Aonia Are Looking For 🔍

We are looking for a drummer who:

-is able to commute to Doncaster / Sheffield for rehearsals

-has their own kit

-has live performance and recording experience

-has a professional attitude

We would prefer to find a drummer who:

-can play to a click track

-has their own transport
