Dental trauma 😢
It’s always hard to see your child experience any dental trauma!
This patient was away on holiday when he fell and fractured both his front teeth🫣
He received temporary treatment abroad and on his return, Dr Cath Lightowler made him smile again😁❤️
This injection moulding composite bonding treatment was carried out under RA Sedation which we offer at our Bishopthorpe Practice. This makes the whole experience more pleasant for the patient👇🏻
RA sedation (Inhalation Sedation) is a light form of sedation. It is a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen breathed through a nosepiece. This helps the patient feel relaxed and more likely to accept treatment.
Inhalation sedation has no health risks for patients and it is an extremely safe technique that reduces the sensation of pain and anxiety and creates a semi-hypnotic state that makes you feel happy and comfortable.
RA sedation is not just for children, it also works great on teenagers and adults with mild or moderate dental anxiety. We accept self-referrals and referrals from dentists via our email.

🦷INVISALIGN🦷
A fantastic final result following Invisalign treatment with our lovely Dentist Catherine.
This lovely patient came to see Catherine looking for ways they could improve the aesthetic appearance of their teeth and bring them into alignment and it was decided Invisalign was the best course of treatment.
The treatment took 10 months in total from start to finish and it was well worth the wait with the final result being exactly what the patient wanted to achieve.

Fabulous day training to use a game changing new drug for sedation called Remimazolam.
It is not processed by the liver so is not affected by certain health issues that currently makes Midazolam sedation difficult and negates some of the issues of drug interactions. Recovery is almost instant.

Another smile transformation!!
If you’ve noticed your wonky teeth on all of those zoom calls get in touch. It’s easier than you think!
This is a lower arch alignment only. I’d have loved to have aligned the uppers as well to close the little space betweeen the centrals but the patient was very happy with the result of lower only.

Been a very busy🐝 since the last update.
Lots of patients seen and treatments carried out. The pandemic is not stopping us!!
