As an EMDR Consultant-in-training, Dr Helen Coote is setting up a small supervision group for 6 months with the possibility to extend more permanently, commencing January 2024.
This is offered low cost at £40 per session. We will meet monthly online (day and time to be agreed) for 1.5 hrs. There are 3 spaces available.
This is offered at a low cost because supervision with a Consultant-in-Training does not count towards your Practitioner accreditation requirement of supervision hours. Once Helen has her Consultant Accreditation, the group supervision hours will count, and you may wish to continue in either group or individual supervision with her.
A focused set of group supervision sessions like this can help you practice your skills, build confidence, and get you well prepared for the demands of Practitioner status by covering specific techniques and principles as well as a space to bring clinical cases. The benefits of hearing other practitioners’ cases and challenges can massively aid learning and provides a chance to reflect in a supportive and encouraging space.

Last year we recruited three newly trained EMDR therapists through this forum, whose practices are now full, and we are keen to recruit three more EMDR therapists who have:
Completed their basic EMDR training
Want to work towards accreditation as an EMDR practitioner, and
Are looking for a supportive therapeutic home where they will get help in building their practice
For suitably qualified and experienced therapists who are interested in working at our clinic, this includes the option of access to monthly supervision with an EMDR Europe accredited Consultant Jessica Woolliscroft, for those who do not already have this in place. EMDR supervision may be offered in a group to keep costs lower, if applicants are happy with this.

The Phase 3 Assessment phase is one of the most important parts of the trauma confrontation stages of EMDR Therapy. However, many clinicians find it can be one of the most confusing or most easily misunderstood parts of the 8 phase protocol. When carried out well, this can be an important but brief aspect of a session that enhances the processing phases that follow. Although if this phase is not properly understood it can be a time consuming and frustrating part of the therapy for both therapist and client alike.
