Healthwatch Hertfordshire's online GP services and bookings survey (https://buff.ly/3YoRpvE) is now live.

There has been a significant shift in the healthcare landscape, and many GP services are now accessed predominantly online. Whilst these changes have presented many opportunities, there are also numerous challenges and difficulties. That's why Healthwatch Hertfordshire is partnering with health providers (NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex) to transform primary care.

By filling out the survey on GP's online services and bookings, Hertfordshire residents will be able to help us:
1. Understand whether people use online services to book appointments with their GP services
2. Explore what people tend to use online services for
3. Identify how online services could be improved and made easier to use
4. And explore public experiences of using online services.
Everyone in Hertfordshire can help us make a difference.

Have you gone a little too hard on the alcohol this weekend? Knowing ‘how much is too much’ can be confusing.

Most of us feel that we know when we’ve overdone it, but sometimes drinking can ‘creep up’ on us.

You can use this unit calculator on the Alcohol Change UK website to find out how healthy your drinking is: https://ow.ly/x5fk50SLYTG

Schizophrenia 24/07/2024

Today is .
Schizophrenia is a mental health condition often described as a type of psychosis. This means you might be unable to tell the difference between your thoughts and reality.
Symptoms may include: a loss of touch with reality; seeing or hear things that are not there; holding irrational, paranoid or unusual beliefs not based on reality; appearing to act strangely because you’re responding to these delusions and hallucinations.
A common misconception is that schizophrenia means having a ‘split personality’. This is not true. It is not related to your personality.
Schizophrenia is usually treated with a combination of therapy and medication unique to the person.

In addition to this, there is self-care and self-help that can help you live well with the condition. For example, planning for difficult times, and understanding the warning signs of an episode.

Great Scott!⚡️- the next Letchworth Garden Shed community event is here..... taking place on SATURDAY 3 AUGUST.
Got an old laptop💻lying around, gathering dust? We can help you donate it to a local student, providing them with much needed access to IT to help them with their studies.
Here's how it works...
1. Book a short slot to drop your old laptop(s) to us at the Letchworth Garden Shed.
2. Our experts will wipe it completely clean of any data 💾 - like you'd never even used it...
3. We, alongside System Restore UK, will refurbish the laptop, before donating it Free-of-charge to a local student 👩‍🎓, who otherwise wouldn't have access to a computer for their studies.
4. If there's any reason we can't refurbish the device or it's not suitable, we'll ethically recycle it.
Want to learn more about the process and sign up?
Visit the website at www.letchworthgardenshed.com/laptop
Alternatively, if you have any questions, feel free to post them below and we'll come right back to you.
