We had a visit from Lisa at ShopMobilityUK recently where we were able to show off our hub and the equipment we hire out. Our very own ShopMobility Coordinator, Phil, can be seen here repairing a scooter. We will soon be helping out with a promotional film for ShopMobilityUK so watch this space to see the outcome.

Thanks to everyone who came and saw us and had a demo of our all terrain wheelchairs when we were at Kidz to Adultz Exhibitions North earlier this week.

It was great too to have Callum who works at Experience Community work the stand with us. Callum is a Trike owner and had good 1st hand knowledge of using the trike, which visitors were very interested to hear about. Callum has recently taken his Trike to the summit of Snowdon to raise funds for the Back Up trust.

Do get in touch if you'd like product information or would like to arrange a demo ๐Ÿ‘‰

โ€œDid you know the spending power of disabled people and their household is more than $8 trillion worldwide.
That's a lot of money.โ€ -

We thought weโ€™d share these interesting facts from Paralympian Jessica Smith in her recent post regarding disability, accessibility and whatโ€™s known as the โ€˜purple poundโ€™ in the UK:

โ€œCan your business afford not to enhance the customer experience of disabled people?

Think about it ...

Did you know that 75% of disabled people and their families have walked away from businesses because of poor accessibility or bad customer service?

Did you know that only 8% of the 1.3 billion disabled people in the world are wheelchair users. Yet this is the default many people think of when we mention 'accessibility'.

I have an obvious physical disability and although I am not a wheelchair user, accessibility is also important to my experience.

Often doors are too difficult to manage, so too is trying to maneuver heavy and poorly designed trolleys full of groceries (while trying to hold a child's hand) in a shop or carpark, not to mention using bathrooms where taps are the design where you need to hold it down for water to flow. How do I do that?
These are just a few examples of when accessibility negatively impacts my customer experience.

Accessibility isn't just about ramps and wheelchair access. 80% of disabilities are in fact, hidden, which means you can't see them, which means accessibility needs are varied and they need to be inclusive.

Disability inclusion is the right thing to do ... but, it's also great for business.

So whether you're a ๐Ÿ’ฐperson, or a โค๏ธperson, or both ... It's time disability inclusion has a seat at your table.

Iโ€™m honoured to be a global Ambassador for enhancing the customer experience for disabled people around the world.โ€œ
