Don’t call it Pilates.”. YES, YES AND YES! 💯 👋. Finally the penny has dropped that this new trend is not Pilates. It is disguised as Pilates, called Pilates but so far removed from the original work. 💁♀️Choose your studio and your teacher wisely. Too many machines in a studio is a warning sign 🛑, fast and furious classes another warning bell, disregard for safety and no precise cueing another one ⚠️, frequent changes in teachers is also an indicator. Finally claims that you will get a 🍑 bottom in 2 weeks or that you will have a "summer" body in 4 are all false. Your well being and your safety should always be the studio and the teacher's priority.

It is the only one that you can work with. Over the years my body has changed with circumstances of life, with age, with what it was encountering at the time. It is a process. I have found that focusing on what my body can achieve rather than what it looks like is a game changer. Start moving mindfully and you might be amazed to discover how much it can do. Your body of yesterday is not the one you have today nor will your body of today be the one of tomorrow. Now is what you can act upon. You cannot change the past and you don't know the future. However how you think of and treat yourself now, including your body will influence your future. Keep moving with compassion! ❤️

We are pleased to announce that Pilates Body Centre will be running a 'Fun Morning' to raise funds for the people affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
All proceeds will go directly to the Disaster Emergency Committee Appeal.
We are running a series of Reformer, Mat, Fitness, Yoga and Private Sessions throughout the morning !

Then one step at a time, you move on and progress. It's not an easy ride. Nothing good comes easy. With commitment, perseverance and consistency anything is possible. The same applies to fitness. Hi everyone! I am a Body Control Pilates teacher and member of the Body Control Pilates Association. I am certified to teach mat and equipment (Reformer, Ladder Barrel, Wunda Chair, Cadillac and Springboard). I would describe myself as a contemporay eclectic teacher who loves creating and trying out different exercises. Using the principles of Pilates I am passionate about exploring movement using various resources such as primal movements, Yoga teachings, breathing techniques, balance training, standing work etc. I believe in teaching who I have in front of me rather than sticking to formula-type lesson plans. My style of teaching is inclusive, adapted and relaxing. I am a dedicated student of Yoga and Buddhist meditation in my spare time and I strive to bring some of these elements in my teaching.
