IT'S A BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND - HAVE YOU GOT A PLEASURE RIDE PLANNED?
Did you know that mingling with horses from other yards can increase the risk of the spread of viral infections such as Equine Herpes Virus (EHV).
Help protect your horse by:
🐴 Avoiding contact with other horses,
🐴 Not sharing equipment, bowls or stables
🐴 Practicing good hygiene: humans can spread EHV indirectly via their hands or clothing if they have been in contact with an infected horse
🐴 Vaccinating as this will help tip the balance in favour of the horse’s immune system. Although vaccinated horses can still be infected with EHV, it significantly reduces the presence and spread of the virus in the environment.
