Knee pain!

Common injuries that we see in clinic include ligament sprains, cartilage damage and meniscal injuries. These structures are prone to injury as they play an important role in absorbing force, providing stability and nourishing the knee joint. 

Degenerative problems such as osteoarthritis can also affect the older population. This is a condition where the natural cushioning between the joints (the articular cartilage) wears away resulting in pain, swelling, stiffness and reduced mobility. 

Treatment for these pathologies can range from conservative physiotherapy (rehab and pain relieving techniques) to reconstructive surgery and joint replacement depending on the type and severity of the injury and the future functional demands of the patient.

Meet Will! Will qualified as a physio in the Netherlands and has since completed a masters degree in strength & conditioning for elite atheletes.

Like Charlie, Will is also qualified in bike fitting, and specialises in sports injuries including return to play.

Will previously competed internationally as a road cyclist in Belgium, USA and Luxembourg.

This dancer came to Vlad for an assessment, who then referred her to me (Charlie) for an ultrasound scan.

We then discussed the results, discussed with the client the treatment plan, and the 3 of us worked together so solve a long term hip issue within a few sessions.

This client is now fit enough to compete in her competition next month, something she was very close to cancelling before she saw us!

Meet Dan! Dan has an honours degree in Physiotherapy and a Masters in Sports & Exercise Medicine.

He specialises in the treatment of shoulder injuries having done research as part of his masters.

Dan has worked in elite sport with Norwich City FC and continues to work with them part time.

Dan has only been with us a few weeks, but is already getting fantastic reviews from his clients!!

Our 2 new shockwave machines are now in clinic (and out of my kitchen!), we now have shockwave therapy available at all 8 of our clinics!

We are looking for ambitious and driven Physiotherapists to join our friendly team at Physio Active Healthcare. We have exciting full and part time opportunities at our Dunmow, Bishops Stortford, Sawston and Meldreth clinics.

You will get to enjoy a variety of working conditions including working independently and as part of a team. You will be expected to have confidence in your own scope of practice but will always have another Physiotherapist on hand for support and guidance.

We prioritise continued learning through regular CPD sessions, including learning new diagnostic and treatment techniques such as diagnostic ultrasound scanning and shockwave therapy.

We pride ourselves on offering all clients clear direction, evidence-based treatment, credible results, and an overall enjoyable experience by attending our clinics.

We work closely with local specialists and consultants so you will have the opportunity to expand your own healthcare network.

You will be provided with all the training necessary, so the post is suitable for experienced and newly qualified Physiotherapists. You must be committed to delivering high quality care and confident in your manual therapy skills and exercise prescription.

This is an exciting position for anyone who is looking to expand on their experience and knowledge with the opportunity to join our team on a long-term basis.

Candidates must be HCPC and CSP registered.

Salary is competitive with London based private practice clinics.
