It just occurred to me, I didn’t post the last few cakes I made, before closing 🎂🍰🧁

I’m keeping the page going…. I’m not emotionally ready to be deleting and to be fair I am on constant watch for a new place, close to our new home near Cockermouth!

Heartbroken doesn’t come close, but my head has to do the decision making this time.

I am so sorry, but from today, I will not be taking anymore orders.

At the end of February I am closing the business.

The past 3 years have really taken some doing, then having to move premises so abruptly took its financial toll & well it’s just too bloody expensive to carry on.

I think I have managed to get in touch with everyone affected (if I have missed anyone after Feb, drop me a message) apologies again.

I cannot thank everyone enough, your support over the past 12+ years has been overwhelming. I have made mistakes who hasn’t, I certainly haven’t been charging enough , been on the telly 🫣 and to be honest I have worked too much & not spent enough time with my beautiful children….I am looking forward to a break from the worries, more family time & getting stuck into my new career in education.

I hope that one day, when times are not so hard,
I will be able to start up again

What a week!!!! I’ve found the perfect space to move my bakery! I’m so relieved & excited to get everything set up and ready for business! Cake Sale Saturdays will be back!!!! 🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁 Yey!!!

Sad Face 😞

Todays plans, we’re to post my Halloween Menu, but instead, I’ve opted to write to you all & explain my decision for the coming months.

Very recently I found out, there are major structural issues with my shop building, which needs extensive repairs. I have been searching for somewhere suitable & temporary, until the works are complete. But it’s really not that easy!

On top of that….

Ever since I opened the bakery, vandals have targeted the shop front, breaking my door, then when it was repaired, stole my posters, I often have doggy p**p on my step & food or who knows what, smeared on my windows. It’s really quite an eye opener what people find entertaining!

This morning, my neighbour knocked, to tell me someone has smashed a window 😕 which I now have to arrange to be boarded over and replaced. Even with my insurance, this still comes at a cost… thanks a lot!!!!! As the shop front is due to be renovated anyways, for now, it will just be boarded up. I’m leaving it like that.

So…. I have made the decision to move out of the shop as soon as possible and for the foreseeable future, do the small amount of work I plan to do, from my home kitchen.

It makes sense, my kitchen is already equipped for commercial use, as I used to work at home….

I will inform all of the relevant agencies and insurances as soon as I can.

With my new job and courses starting on Monday, I need to focus on them & my boys as top priority…. Not what delights await me at the shop everyday. Because to be honest, it get’s me down.

I don’t really know what else to say, except I’m gutted. I adore my shop & everyone who has made my dream possible, your continued support and loyalty has been amazing. Thank you all.

I WILL CONTINUE TO BAKE 💪🏻🎂, a Halloween 🎃 & Christmas 🎄 Menu will be posted…. It’ll just be collection from a different address for a while.

All customers booked in shortly, will be contacted individually today…. I’m just trying to get everything sorted and made safe

September! Autumn is on its way 🍁 This month marks a massive change for me.

Next Monday I begin my new course! For the first time in 12 years, I will be an employee ☺️ I’m so nervous & excited!!!

I will be working both jobs part time & studying to become a teachers assistant! I feel so lucky to have been given the opportunity & blessed that I have my own cake business, to help fund my studies! I know it’s going to be a LOT! But I also know, if I put the hard work in…. It will be worth it # # # eeeeeeek!

Ps. Is it too early to advertise for Halloween & Crimbo? This year I will be offering a much more simple & cheaper menu. I don’t know about you guy’s! But our Christmas will not be as extravagant as previous years! I also have to take into consideration how long I have the ovens on & how much my ingredients have increased….But I also know, that many of my Christmas customers, love to have something hand made….what do you think?

Getting Married? 🎂 ❤️

I am currently working through all of my messages, before my holidays start at the end of the week. My 2023 diary is well and truly open. As I will be working part time on cakes, for many weeks next year….. lots of weeks are already limited availability. Thank you all so much! July/Aug has been absolutely EPIC! I have been really quiet on here…. But I just haven’t had time. I don’t feel like my feet have touched the ground for weeks!! 14 Weddings in 5 weeks (many of which were postponed due to Covid) ❤️ plus many other special occasion cakes 🎂 Amazing Thank you all so very much and congratulations to all of the lovely couples getting hitched ❤️. I am a bit emotional writing this…….

In July 2010, after many many months of research & practice….. I was well on my way to publishing my Muffin Top page!

I can honestly say, hand on heart, I have dedicated my whole life for the past 12+ years, to what can only be described as a massively successful business. Crikey, we were even on national tv 🤭 like, who does that???

I am so so thankful to each and every single customer, for showing support and helping the business to grow!
Look at what we’ve achieved ❤️🎂!!!!!!!!

Recent times have taken their toll on the bakery, I think everyone is business right now is feeling some pressure….. but even through Covid,
You all stood by me & helped me battle through.

Something really exciting happened this week.

I have been given an opportunity, to work towards the
job of dreams! I am literally going back to school, to retrain for a new career. At 40 years old, I have been offered an apprenticeship ☺️💪🏻

I really crave more time with my boys & this change will to some extent, give me that.

I don’t think I could ever imagine closing the business, but while I find my feet in my new role, from September onwards I will be baking on a really part time basis. Mostly Wedding cakes, my loyal regular customers & the odd ‘Cake Sale Saturday’ 🧁🧁🧁🧁

Massive apologies to those customers, who’s orders I have had to cancel or re arrange. It’s just impossible to do both full time. Thank you all for your understanding and kind wishes, it really means a lot.

I must state, everything I do now will be scaled right back. I have very limited availability between October and Christmas, so if you’d like me to check any dates, please feel free to get in touch.
