Christmas Light Swtch-On sorted and immediatly back to Mayoral duties! A walk along to Flow Bars on the bridge to present a Mayor’s Commendation to a very special person, Mark Stroud. The original person who set up the first Frome LGBTQ Community Frome monthly meet up sessions 4 years ago, Mark has been such an inspiration and always being there to welcome people, support and help community members.
A huge THANK YOU to all the performers, FTC staff, Councillors, helpers, volunteers, sound crew, The George Hotel, and all who worked so hard to put on such a spectacular evening. A very special THANK YOU to all who took part in the Parade with a stunning display of Lanterns. THIS IS FROME!

Such beautiful singing by Yulia and Olga, both Ukranian, now living in Frome. They sang the amazing Ukranian New Year’s song”Shchedryk” - “Bountiful Evening”. This song was later adapted as a Christmas Carol known as “Carol of Bells”

Mayor's column - 21st November 2023 - Frome Town Council Remembrance Weekend began on Friday morning at Frome Train Station when we presented a wreath from Frome Town Council to the Poppy Train on its way to News and updates from Frome's Mayor, Philip Campagna.

Newly formed Frome Town Community Benefit Society is inviting the public to attend its AGM on Thursday 30th November, to elect a board of directors and shape the future of the Badgers Hill site, continuing Frome’s footballing tradition alongside the wider creation of a thriving and dynamic community asset.
Only members can vote in the election. Various membership options are available and more information is available at bit.ly/join-ftcbs
The election for directors of the FTCBS takes place on Thursday 30th November at the Badgers Hill clubhouse from 7pm to 9pm.

I was invited to the Wessex Counselling & Psychotherapy Graduation Evening at Frome Town Hall on Friday 17 Nov. I was so surprised to be presented with a birthday cake on my birthday and all gathered sang Happy Birthday! Thank you Jane Bennet and all at Wessex C&P. Congratulations to all who graduated.

It was a real pleasure and an honour to present Mike Bishop with the Mayor’s Civic Award on his recent retirement as Frome Town Crier. On behalf of Frome Town Council I thank Mike for his 17 year of service and we wish him and Angie a happy and healthy retirement.
🎄Join us as we switch on the sparkles with the Christmas Lights and Lantern Parade this Friday 24th November, 5pm-7pm!
This well-loved annual event always gets the festive season started and features merry live music from Frome Town Band, Rock Choir Trowbridge Frome Warminster/Westbury and Chippenham and the Frukes as well as exciting street entertainment and even a fun children’s ride!
Jamma de Samba and Frome Light The Night always make it memorable and with this year’s lantern theme being Ice, it’s bound to be twinklier than ever.
Road closures will be in place from 4pm on Friday 24th so anyone planning to attend is asked to walk to the event if possible.

I spotted the wreath that I presented on behalf of Frome Town Council to the Poppy Train at Frome station yesterday morning
At Paddington Station this morning and paused to see the Poppies to Paddington wreaths from all over the South West and South Wales delivered by the Poppy Trains
